Just drop it in /Library/PhonePlugins and enjoy. I'm still working on syncing calendars...

Hi Nicwolff

I have downloaded your plugin and unzipped it to my User/Library/Phones folder but iSync does not recognise it?

Can you advise me at all?

Thanks

Mark

It should go in PhonePlugins, not Phones.

I'm also having trouble. I'm running OSX 10.4.8 (Tiger) and I cannot find the "PhonePlugins" folder, even after trying a SpotLight and Quicksilver search. Any advice?

Hello,

You need to put it into:

/Library/PhonePlugins

If the PhonePlugins directory does not exist already, you will need to create it yourself. Note: The above Library directory is not your personal Library directory (/Users/YourName) but is found in the root of your hard drive.

Good luck!

Thanks!

I already went to http://en.isync-hilfe.de/ and went through the steps of trying to sync the RIZR. I even made an icon: http://jessemoya.com/pics/MOTOZ3.tiff

But I've not been able to get it to work. The above plugin uses PEBL code, and I've also tried copying RAZR V3x code as well, but to no avail.

Has anyone else gotten it to work?

This worked like a charm for me; be sure you put the entire plugin that gets unzipped into the folder called "phoneplugins". at first I had the folder inside the plugin! that didn't work at all.

Thanks!

Works pretty good. Have you had any luck with syncing calendars? I have programming experience, is there any way I can help you?

Cheers!

I can't get isync to work will my rizr z3. i've tried putting MOTZ3.phoneplugin into a file that i had to create (/library/PhonePlugins). After which isync recognized the phone, but when i go to sync it says that the connection failed. I've never use isync before, if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it thanks.

It works! Let us know when you have the rest. So cool to have people like you offering solutions. I just bough the RIZR and was about to kick myself, because ti did not work with my MacBook Pro.

Hi there,

I put the plugin in the correct location (Library/PhonePlugins/), however iSync does not recognize it's new-found ability to sync with the phone.

When I try to "Add Device..." the process works, and it recognizes a device it just calls a "Motorola Phone", but says that iSync can not sync to this device.

Any ideas?

I found a way to get to sync calendars. Just download this new file and put it in /Library/PhonePlugins. If you have an old version of the MOTZ3 plugin you can just replace it with this one.

If you've already have your Z3 in sync, remove it, and remove it from your list of bluetooth devices. (otherwise you'll end up doubling up your contacts on your address book)

Go through the "Set up Bluetooth Device" to add the Z3, then go to iSync and add it there. Make sure the "on first sync" option is set to erase everything on the phone instead of merge, otherwise you'll end up doubling up your contacts.

Contacts and calendar should sync fine now.

NOTES, please read:
You need isync version 2.4 for this to work. I've not tested it o...

i don't know what i am doing wrong, as i follow all the steps listed, but i can never get this to work. the bluetooth assistant never gives me the option to add my device to isync, and when i try to add it manually in isync, i get an error saying my phone is not supported. god i miss this functionality and just cannot figure out why this workaround does not work.

I also loaded the file as directed, and found the mac found the phone but got a not supported msg from isync. Even tried a USB cable, still no luck. Is there possibly a setting on the phone or on the Mac that is blocking the linkage. Thanks very much

Simply create a new folder called Phoneplugins in the Library folder.
Which Library folder? I created Phoneplugins in the system Library folder and everything worked fine.
I have read that you can create it instead in the user Library folder.
