connect failure
i borowwed my cousins music essenials kit and downloaded it on my computer. But everytime I connect my phone to the comp via usb cable, it says connect failure. I tried connecting it from the back and front usb ports, still nothing (and yes I went through all the steps in the manual). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Had the same problem. Only figured it out yesterday. On the Verizon Wireless website, they posted a software fix program in the phones support section. In the instructions though, it says to reboot your phone before reconnecting it back to your computer. I think they meant to say reboot your computer after you install it since that's what I had to do to make my phone connect

i tried that and it didnt work. It says it searched looking for the mtp device and cant find it. There was a problem that occurred during installation and I dont remember doing anything wrong??? help.

I had the same problem. First if you have windows Vista, it's not compatible yet. April is the month for the updated driver for this.
Second, you do have to reboot your phone, power off the phone then unplug it from the pc, then plug it back into the pc and power the phone back on.
Before you do any of this, uninstall everything you installed from the disk..After Motorola told me you don't need to install the disk for the drivers, it worked great.
Hope this helps.. mine works great now and I love it.
Also, don't forget to format your SD chip before you put any songs on it..
put it in the adapter it came with, then put the adapter in the pc. go to my computer and find the SD drive, right click on that and go down to Format..
Your done.

Thank you so much for posting this solution! I was at my wit's end and couldn't get it to work!!! I have WMP 11 and the Music Essentials [that I got from the Verizon site] but it wouldn't work. Then I read this and took off the Motorola drivers from the CD and voila.
