Palm Treo 700w / 700wx

i need help choosin. my birthday is coming up, my parents are getting me a new phone, and i will going to college soon. since i am going to a business school, its necessary for me to have either a palm pilot or a smart phone/pocket pc. i don't know whether to get the 700w or the utstarcom 6700. please help. thanx 🙂

Can anyone help me with getting my phone to vibrate and ring at the same time. Currently I have it set up to do both under the Sounds & Notifications Menu. However, if the ringer is switched on it will not vibrate even though the box is selected to do so. Anyone else have this problem? Also, how can I change the default ring-tone?

1.) When I am on a call and I get another call the first call is put on hold but when I switch back the other line doesnt disconnect it just sits on hold. Am I doing something wrong?

(2.) During the day if I dont use my phone for an hour or two it will "freeze." By freeze I mean the screen wont turn back on. Is this a function of the settings that I need to change or just a Windows crash error?

3.) Active sysc (through USB) takes over 10 minutes. PLEASE HELP.

about how tall is this antenna. i have not been able to actually go to a store or anything to see the phone so i am attempting to make a scale rough sketch of the phone but i cannot tell how big the antenna is. if you can help and possibly put the measurement in cm it would be greatly appreciated

I just purchased the Treo 700w and of course there is a lot to learn about this phone but one thing I was disappoinited in and have not been able to see an option for is the black and white photography with the camera! Is this standard on all camera phones? Is color photography available on other phones? Can the Treo be made to do it?

I know this question has been asked by many, and I have searched the threads and having no luck. I am having problems setting up my Active Synch using Bluetooth from my phone to my laptop. I've tried everythind I thought I could, but with no success. Could anyone please email me some step by step instructions that worked for them. I would really appreciate any help. HELLO ALL, I AM WRITING THIS FOR ANYBODY THAT HAS ANY PROBLEMS WITH A TREO OR ANY PDA PHONE FROM VZW. I HAVE USED 5 DIFFERENT PDA/SMARTPHONES AND ON EACH I HAVE ENCOUNTERED PROBLEMS VZW HAS BEEN MORE THEN ABLE TO HELP ME WITH ANY PROBLEMS. I CALLED THIS NUMBER(18667889387) THEY TROUBLE SHOOT THE PHONE AND IF THEY CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT THEY WILL SHIP YOU A REFURB. NOW I KNOW THAT YOU GUYS ARE SAYING I SPENT X AND X ON THIS UNIT WHY DO I GET A REFURB...WELL YOU CAN DO THIS WHEN YOUR PHONE IS 10 DAYS OLD OR 6 MONTHS OLD....AND I HAVE EVEN DONE THIS AFTER DROPPING A PHONE AND THEY SWAPED IT AFTER I TOLD THEM THE KEYBOARD WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY(might have failed to mention the drop) BUT NEXT DAY PHONE CAME BY FEDEX. JUST PASSING ON THE INFO.....

Is it possible to use the 700w as a high-speed modem with a PC on an unlimited smartphone EVDO data plan? If yes, must you tether it via a USB cable, or can you use Bluetooth? The VZW site does not mention tethering as a possibility with the 700w, though they DO with the Blackberry 7130. The site also states that bluetooth can be used to SYNC to a PC with the 700w, but makes no mention of dial-up capabilities. If it is physically possible, but not technically offered by VZW (and therefore not supported by customer service), how reliable is the connection? I bought a Moto V710 for the express purpose of using it as a bluetooth modem to my PC, which it actually worked as until VZW shut me down. thanks in advance for any advice!

Has anyone figured out how to get your wireless sync to stay connected? I sometimes don't get mail from the server for over 2 hours.

I noticed that if you conect to the interent and then close the program, the sync will connect and pull and push my mail.

If anyone has figure it out that would be great.

IS there a FIX comming soon?

I am on the road a ton for work and need a fully functional smartphone. I am toying with blackberry but would like a palm, I am a verizon customer(unfortunately).

Should I get this phone, despite its problems or wait for the Motorola Q?

Have both te 6700 and the Treo 700- the 6700 has some great hacks that folks have posted; makes it run much better.

Since these two units both use WM5 would the hacks for the 6700 also apply to the 700W?

I seem to have a problem. When typing an email address into the to field it sometimes suggests the rest of the address from the contacts and some times does not.

When the phone is soft reset it always works the first time...but the first time only. After that you have to type the complete address which is annoying. Anyh idea what is going on?

Anyone know why I can not change bids due to a script error with IE on my Palm 700?

Does anyone know if IE on the Palm Treo 700 with Windows Mobile 5.0 runs scripts. I keep getting an error message when I update bids in my Yahoo account for Pay Per Click advertising.

Does anyone know if the unlimited data plan includes free text messaging, or if that is extra? Thanks.

I have an Overture account, which is like an EBay account, but it is for Pay Per Click advertising with yahoo. I own a golf reservation company and we book golf for every golf course in Las Vegas. I am trying to access my Overture account to adjust my bids when I am not in the office and my phone does not allow me to run scripts. I can view the site and login, but once I change a bid and try to update the bids in my account, it comes up with an error "Script Warning - A script is causing the device to run slowly. If it continue to run, your device may become unresponsive." If this continues, this phone now becomes useless to me for my work. PLEASE HELP!
