Yeah so what are we suposed to do with these phones? They were only contracted for use by Amp'd....now that Amp'd ceases to exist...are we all really stuck with a $200 phone that is useless?

Anybody got any ideas? Can you trade them in? Sell them? Port them? What's a girl to do????? 😢

I'm bummed! I really like this phone...and noone will port it to thier service....

Kyocera Jet turns off?

I bought a Kyocera Jet for ampd, and love it, except it seems to just turn off for no reason, and won't turn back on until it's plugged in. Apparently it happens if I press all the buttons on the front face simultaneously (which I guess happens a lot when it's in my pocket) I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this and how can I fix it?

video ?

i heard that you can record 15 second video's to the phone

but you can also change the settings to record to the memory stick and you can record up to three minutes.

is that true?

Another Wonderful Review

"The Jet is the first phone available from Amp'd Mobile, so it is all very new. As can be expected, there are some glitches. For example, out of the box the Amp'd Live feature (Amp'd's live/streaming media portal) does not work. Tech support is very friendly and assures me this will be fixed but at this point I cannot try out all the phone's features.

The hardware itself looks very stylish. The case is plastic which feels a little cheaper than my previous phone but it seems to be sturdy and it is all put together well. The pieces are well-machined, the buttons respond well, and the styling is consistent and attractive. My only reservation is that the slide seems a little awkward, but this does not interfere with the operation of the phone...

Music Player Issues (and others, as it turns out)

I'm quite sure that the issues with the Jet music player not playing some tracks are the same as the ones with the Slider Sonic (since its the same exact phone except without EVDO and the Live/PTT service).

The issue is that if the filename is too long, the song won't show in the list. I'm not sure what the limit is, but who cares? just make the name shorter until it works.

As far as battery life goes, what did you expect? This isn't a motorola v120. There is alot more going on here with about the same type of battery. So buy a car charger, and don't try to tell me that you will never use it, because I might be forced to smack you.

This goes for all EVDO phones. Everyone demands higher resolution and bigger screens, better speake...

I am impressed w/ the phone. I wonder how the PTT works. Since it used Verizon's network, I would think its the same as Verizon.

Build quality compared to A800

As you probobly know, I am a stickler for external build quality.

Any idea on how it fares up to the A800 by Samsung? Is the flip solid? How are the plastics? Do they feel hollow? Is there a cheap feeling battery door?

Amp'd Mobile

This phone will be released for a new MVNO-Amp'd Mobile.

-Amp'd will offer BOTH prepaid & postpaid accounts.

-Data packages WILL be available.

Do not have the link, but a rep w/ Amp'd mobile described that the plans will be similar to your cable company...eg you have basic cable for a set price (think of this as your minutes) and then you add on subscriptions to premium channels (think of this as data packages, text, etc)

Hope this is helpful.
Can't wait for the Launch!!

Samsung - Shameful D307

Am I the only one who thinks the Samsung D307 is a huge step backwards? Samsung is known for making sharp phones with visual appeal - the D307, in my opinion, is a disgrace to my eyes. I wouldn't own that phone for anything - ug.

😡 Disappointed !!!
