I would definetely let it get away with that incredibly high $299.99 price.. who would wanna pay 300 dollar for a phone with 2 year aggreement.. i dont understand..

i bought it from letstalk.com for $99.99 when it was first released...

Yeah, I know I can't pay $300. I ordered mine over a week and a half ago at cellularchoices.net -- $249 minus $250 rebate after 6 months. But for over a week now it's been saying that my order should ship within 72 hours!!! haha. So now that Cingular has it back, I'm hoping they'll get their inventory going again soon. They've tried to get me to change my order a couple times already.

The rep at the Cingular store tried to tell me that the ROKR would be comparable - lol.

arajera, you say,
"Yeah, I know I can't pay $300. I ordered mine over a week and a half ago at cellularchoices.net -- $249 minus $250 rebate after 6 months."
How did you get that? Is that one of those plans where you pay $59.99 per month/2 yrs for 450 minutes? They have to make up the cash somewhere. How is it?

And you were a new Cingular customer, I am not. You won't be able to do it again. Considering what I paid for the 6620 a year ago, $299 is a fair price. I make good money and I don't mind spending it on the things I want.

Yes,

I am a new Cingular customer... coming from Verizon. So I've got to sign a new 2-year contract and the rebate doesn't come for six months. Actually the rebate terms seem a bit shady from what I've read in some places. Hopefully it'll turn out to be free, but even without rebate it's still cheaper than Cingular's price.

Just bought mine and I Freakin' LOVE it!

Powered off removed SIM and played around with it then put it back together call logs are A-OK (32k SIM card),
Controls my mac Via Bluetooth, Plays Gameboy Games flawlessly, Everything works great!

doesn't Like large PDF's (1.3 Megs or so) but it's good if I need to pull up an old client's bill on the go.

All in all, I couldn't be happier I waited for this phone.

sarab376,

After 15 days, the two 6682s I ordered say they were shipped today. I'm still using my Verizon phone, so I can't answer your potability question until tomorrow. It only took less than a day for the switch to be approved by Verizon.

So I will finally have my 6682 tomorrow or Thursday hopefully 🙂

On the ports that I have done, I would say the average for completion, is about 2hrs.

Customers can have mixed service for a few hours. Mixed service is where you old phone takes incoming and your new can place calls.

I believe that they schedule the porting to happen on the same day as the expected delivery date. For me that's tomorrow. So hopefully my phone number will be usable until I actually receive the new phone.

And I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get these full rebates... according to some places on the web, people were sort of tricked into their rebates becoming invalid... due to the small window of time there is to submit them -- 180-210 days after "new Cingular Wireless account is activated". I guess my account is activated today or tomorrow... so I'm guessing I'll start counting now. Some people tried to submit rebates without following instructions to the tee, then the paperwork was returned and there was no time to re-submit. Hopeful...

Hmmmm, well I can't do anything about the rebates until 180 days after completion of the order.

I printed the rebate forms from their site and will follow instructions meticulously.
