SMS notification tone

I just switched over to the i730 from the Sony Ericsson 910a. On the Sony i was able to my own MP3s for not only the incoming call ringtone, but for other notifications such as a new SMS. I would like to use the same MP3s as alerts for this device as well. Figuring out how to set the phone ringtone was easy, but for the life of me i have not figured out how to use my own MP3 tone for new SMS notification. Does anybody know how to do this?

There seems no way for that. It's how MS PocketPC designed... Blame Mr. Gates for that!

I answered someone else with this. Hope it helps.

Your alerts need to be in .wav format. There are converters out there that will convert an .mp3 file into a .wav file. Then just copy the .wav file into you pda's Windows directory. I did a search on the web and found several links claiming to have converters. This is just one I found: www.softaward.com/6292.html. I have never used this software, it is simply an example of what is out there.
