I want to know cause I'm having a lot of trouble with mp3/video playback and I want to know if I have a faulty phone so I can return it asap.

I haven't had a problem yet playing mp3s. I use different bitrates... 96, 128, 192 and VBR which is up to 250.

I've put small files and large 10mb mp3s on my phone and they all play.

The only problem I've seen so far is if you have a filename longer than 15 characters it will not show up on the play list. Just a simple renameing of the file will allow it to be displayed and played.

Also, I would suggest trying to reencode your mp3s if you still cannot get them to work.

The best *free* software that I've seen for ripping mp3s using the LAME mp3 encoder (a lot better than mp3pro or others) is WinLAME.

Here's the link to soureforge.net for the download.

I use the wave editor that comes with Nero burning and it does LAME mp3 encodes.

I guess from what you're saying, the problem is with my phone. I'm having way too many issues with mp3 playback for it to just be the mp3 encodes (i've tried every type)

Thanks.
