Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)

Does anyone happen to know if you can change the change the connection time out when you have the phone connected to a PC using the included USB cable? When I try to transfer a lot of MP3s the connection times out before I can get them all transferred. Thanks! 😁

Is the speakerphone full or half duplex?

I just switched from an LG vx3100 with Verizon to an Audiovox 5600 with Cingular. The sound quality of the new phone is horrible (tinny and low volume mostly, even cuts in and out sometime). Is the problem with the Audiovox or Cingular network? Will switching to a Nokia (probably the 6682), still with Cingular, solve the problem? Audiovox seems better for synching to Outlook (also important to me) but the sound quality is unbearable. Am I the only one who thinks that?

Im not really familiar w/ the smartphones. I was wondering...can you access any websight on a smartphones internet browser that you could access on a desktop? If you can...if you go to websight on your desktop for example that require lets say a sunjava download to enter a chat room...will it download on the phone as it would your home computer?

My contract is going to run out at the end of November and I'm thinking about upgrading my call quality without losing my ability to browse the internet.

These two phones appear to be my least expensive options so I'm hoping that someone here has used both or even all three phones so that they can give me their opinion as to which one is best.

I played around with the 6682 and the 5600 the other day. I found that they both loaded www.niketalk.com at about the same speed (5600 was a little faster). It seemed like the 5600 changed view faster and scrolled better (the image didn't blur). The 5600 also has three view options to the 6682's two (using Opera).

That's all I've got to go on for making my decision.

I posted before- on the fence about getting the 5600, the s710a is a great phone- features wise but I like the lighter and smaller size of 5600 and windows - can anyone push me in either direction?

Why does the amount of available "program memory" displayed in the "system info" tab decreases over just a few hours of use?

When I reset my phone I have aprox 10 MB of program memory. After using several apps for a few hours the amount of program memory goes down to 3 or 4 MB, even after closing all the applications I was using. Why doesn't it go back to 10 MB ? I don't think Microsoft would be so sloppy as to allow a 7MB memory leak on a smartphone with 32MB RAM, so what the hell is going on ?

i have a 1 g mini sd card and it only lets me put like half of that on there and yes i am sure it is a 1g memory card please help

Is the voice dialing done by speaker-dependent (recorded) or is speaker-independent (recognition) like on the moto mpx 220?

Does anyone know how to make the backlight on the buttons stay on longer?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good case for this phone. I have read other forums that say that this phone has a problem with dust getting behind the screen if it is carried in the pocket. There is also a guide that explains how to remove the dust if this happens. After reading the instructions for removing the dust I think I want to prevent this from happening by using a good case. Any suggestions are welcomed.

already two phones had the same problem, while playing any kind of media with or without media player 10 you hear a chirping sound. has anyone experienced this. i am getting a 3rd one if that doesn't work out I'll just get a different brand. am i doing something wrong?
