Motorola MPx220

I have a customer who has the MPx220 and would like to be able to use the speaker phone while it is closed. On all of the other motorola phones it is possible by default, but the MPx220 he has hangs up every time he closes it. Is there a setting or is it possible his phone is defective??? Do your MPx's hang up when on speaker phone and you close the flip???

My MPX220 screen has a large "black" spot about the size of a dime. It's very interesting since the outside surface has no marks at all which would indicate that I hit it on something. I carry it in my pocket with nothing else and am very aware of any scratches as we haven't been provided with a case option as yet.

I call the cingular repair line and told them what problem I was having. Bottom line is that to get my 2 month old phone replaced is going to cost me $450!! I only paid 189 for it with my 2 yr contract! I cannot upgrade my service to get another phone until Sept so basicly I'm stuck with this thing until then!

Does anyone know what is currently going on with Cingular and the MPX220? Or Motorola for that matter!

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the matter.

There is no GPRS network in my country. WE have GSM only. I want to set up my MPX220 to dial my ISP email & internet server for pop3 email and internet just like I can do using my busy Nokia 9210 Communicator. Please help me to do so. What setttings are reqired and in which menu options. Thank you. Eliot

I ordered what was supposed to be a new holster w/belt clip ( the kind that typically comes with Motorola, but they didn't feel the need w/such a lofty price tag--I'm not bitter! )

Anyways, the stupid thing is nowhere near long enough to work. It doesn't look like it was for this phone. Surely they made a mistake and sent me the wrong one?

I install a couple themes, then decided that they don't look good and then uninstalled them. The themes uninstalled but they are install on the list of installed programs.

How do I remove them from the list?

A few of my songs are being cut off after 40sec of play for some reason. They all transfered over to the phone (MPx220) perfectly with no issues. I have a RIDATA 512MB miniSD card (that only shows up as 485MB). Is it a memory card problem?

can someone help me with editing the registry. i want to program the phone to not end a call if I close the lid while using speaker mic. does the mic also shut off if we close the lid?

please help... i have determined that the mic is outside of the unit and woul like to have the speaker faced at me when using speakerphone.

Has anyone else accidentally done a factory reset when all they wanted to do was reboot the phone?

Twice now, I was insanely careful to press ONLY the power button when turning on my phone, and was unpleasantly greeted by that nefarious "Master Reset- please wait..." type screen.

Firstly, why doesn't it ask before doing a master reset? It seems to only take a button sequence, and sometimes not even that.

Secondly, why is my phone doing a master reset when I know I'm only pressing the power button and not the blue action button as well (the proper master reset sequence)?

Is mine the only one doing this? I guess it's not too bad as it only takes me about 60 minutes to re-sync, reinstall and reconfigure everything, but it's ju...

why sometimes does the phone not notice the sd card? ☹️

I hear a lot of you crying about your mpx220 not working, but aren't you aware of the 1 year manufacturer's warranty? call 866-636-5806 (from a different phone) and they'll send you a replacement. I just did it...fast and painless. free 3-5 day delivery, but i needed mine asap so i payed 7 bucks for next day.

manufacturers warranty won't cover physical or water damage...don't lie to them over the phone, cuz they'll just charge your account later on.

Where can I get a black MPX220 like the one pictured on the phonescoop info page. Seems I can only find silver one's in local shops and online.

I know I can take a pic with the phone's camera and use it as a caller ID photo for a contact, but can I somehow do this with a picture I transfer from my PC?
