qcp files instead of MP3??

I got my 4th replacement V710 the other day ... so my normal process to replace my ringers is just to email about 10 of them to my phone from my laptop.

The first set I did worked out fine.

But yesterday I sent a few more ... instead of arriving as MP3 files (as I had sent them) they arrived as QCP files.

Is Verizon doing something to change files sent TO your phone??

yea, verizon changes the files to that .qcp format, which both lower file size and lower quality.
That's why if you send music files, you should simply rename the file from blahblah.mp3 to blahblah.mid. It will play as if it were an mp3 file, except it has the .mid extension. No difference other than that.

I tried renaming and mp3 to a .mid but the v710 says that the file is not supported and will not play it.
