i LOVE this phone but...

I've got a "thing" for Sony, between my first Sony Ericsson (the Z500) and the next one i eventually got (the W580), and all the other Sony product i've had and still do (mainly proud of my PS3),... For the longest i've been wishing/waiting for Sony to up their game though and start pushing in on the smartphone movement like i know they can. Needless to say, my interest started peaking with the Xperia Play, then the Xperia Ion, and as soon as i noticed that they dropped the "Ericsson" title i knew they were getting serious Smile ... but something was still missing...

No LTE on/off switch

This is really starting to bum me out. Living in an LTE city, the battery can leech away when I'm not even using my phone. My only options are LTE on or data completely off.

And it's something that's possible! The iPad 4G has an LTE on/off switch, and I love that.

Why aren't phone manufacturers doing that? Do you think any phones do? Are you aware of any that do for AT&T?

Too bad it didn't lose the "Xperia" name too

Memo to Sony, and the less-than-intelligent executives who run it:

"Xperia" has no brand equity. It is a worthless moniker. It has been attached to three generations of pure crap. Please stop attaching it to all of your also-ran products.
