Ear Piece Volume Issues?

I'm with Bell in Canada and I'm having major issues with the volume on the ear piece. If there's any background noise at all around me, I can't hear a thing! I have the volume cranked.
If I call bell on *611, it's really loud, so I know it's not the hardware. Is this a phone software or network issue? Anyone else notice this?

Extended batteries and data cables.

First things first, the standard battery has a power rating of 950 mAh. I've poked around on the internet some but I can't find a solid number to put with the extended battery. Does anyone out there know the actual capacity of the extended battery?

Secondly, as far as data transfers are concerned here's what I've got going. I've looked around at different shops and found that everywhere that is selling a data cable for the LX5550 also shows the VX6000 in the lists of compatibility. So instead of trusting my credit card to just any junky internet shop I went over to www.newegg.com and purchased a data cable for the VX6000 from them.
As for software, I've decided to go with Bitpim. Bitpim was written to work Qualcomm 3G CDMA phones and is ...

5550 Wallpaper?

Is there any way at all to download photos to the LX5550 USCC version of this phone? I bought this instead of the 6000 camera phone with the understanding that I could download my photos (like I did on my old 4400) through EasyEdge. However the USCC dealers now tell me it's not possible on this phone. Does anyone have any experience with that Datapilot program that is out there? Can photos be downloaded from your pc to the LX5550 with this program? I don't want to spend the money on the Datapilot program just to find out it won't work on the 5550 even though it says it is supported.
Thanks.

LG LX-5550 Manual Available Online

Note that the manual for this phone is now available at LG's web site:

http://us.lge.com/Product/proddetail.do?action=mobil ... »

The posted manual is the US Cellular-specific version. It describes Easyedge, for example.

Contact sync options? Use VX6000 sw & cable?

Trying to get info on whether the cable/SW for the VX6000 will work with the 5550 for contact sync?

Obviously the picture uploading wouldn't work, but anyone tried the sync with Outlook contacts?

Any differences between LX and VX 5550?

Anybody know the difference between the LX and VX designation (as far as the end user is concerned)? USCellular is carrying the VX model and I was wondering if the LX reviews apply.
