Can Caller ID Speak out Loud?

I had used the LG Muziq, and with the voice guide feature enabled, caller ID info would speak when an incoming call was received. I would really like to get this to work on the LG Lotus, but so far, have not been able to do so, and no one at Sprint seems to know anything about it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Having a problem with Ringtones!

I have downloaded ringtones to my phone and saved them as alerts such as text/pic mail and voicemail. Unfortunately, the option to save the volume "same as ringer" does not apply to these. Even when I put the phone on "Silent All," it still plays the alerts for texts ect.. loud as ever!! Please help, I want to continue using my downloads for my alerts.

Couple of questions:

My boyfriend just got the lotus...I'm a self proclaimed tech geek but I can't figure some stuff out...
1-RINGTONES:where can I get free ringtones from? I tried using a wap based site but I get an error message. I tried sending it to the email but it wont save to the card.
2-WAP:how do I find out if the phone is wap approved or whatever?
3-OPERA:I can't seem to download it, any reasons why? it says it can locate or support the phone.

Thanks for all your help.

Music Player

I recently purchased a 8GB transend micro SDHC card for my lotus. I loaded about 100 songs on it and my phone took about 10 minutes to load the first song. I took the same card and loaded about 6GB more of music on it. When I opened up the music player, it began to load and the power reset. Has anyone had this problem before. The phone is supposed to handle up to 12GB but it seems as if it cannot read too much information at one time.

HTML slow down?

I was reading in the indepth review that the Lotus was able to support HTML internet surfing, but then was saddened by the folowing statement that it took "90 seconds" for an HTML page to load as opposed to the WAP browser's "7 sec.".

Is it true that the HTML really takes that long, or was it just this one time on the review?
Anyone here experiance the same lag time?

You Know What I Think Would Make This Phone Great...

I love the form factor of this phone. There are just three things I wish this phone had:

No1-Support for EVDO Rev-A. If I'm not mistaken this phone only supports Rev-0.

No2-Support for more than 600 contacts. Seriously, I don't want to scroll trough my contacts and have to decide who does and who doesn't make it onto my phone. I'd like each one of their listings to be there so I have them when I need them.

No3-Windows Mobile OS. This would take care of my 600 contact problem and most likely would have been built with Rev-A support. But most importantly it would allow me to connect with my SlingBox. Orb would not be a solid replacement for this app. Just imagine how hot this thing would be running Windows Mobile 6.1 with a touch scre...

I'm wondering...

... If anyone has had the same problem I have so far with their Lotus.

The message ringer is on high no matter how LOW I put it. Even if I turn all the sound down and put it on vibrate, it still blasts at level 8 every time I get a message, email or voicemail. The only thing that has remedied it is silencing all the noise completely... but then I don't know if I got a call.

I'm gonna end up doing a warranty replacement on it or something... but I'm just kinda fed up with it and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same problem.

Google Maps

Can this phone download the Google Maps application? google.com/gmm if you dont know how to get it. That is most important to me. I cant stand the Sprint Navigator because it takes so long to operate and is often unreliable. Most of the older phones had it but it seems that Sprint is now phasing that application out to force users to use the Sprint Navigator. The only phone I know of that has it are the Palm phones and Im not interested in those. Thanks for your help. 🙂

Front display a little cloudy? Or is it just me...

I got my Lotus yesterday, and noticed that my front display seems a teeny bit cloudy, and kind of dim. Is it supposed to be that way?

Before adding insult to injury, yes I have taken all of the clear protective plastic off of it, and my settings are not set to stay dim always.

It's just that the inside screen is so bright and crisp, that the external doesn't even come CLOSE to matching the clarity of the internal.

Is it just me or is this the same with all of them?

mp3's from computer

on my lg muziq i was able to get mp3's from my computer into the music folder on the memory card so they would play from the music store. when i transfer songs manually onto the card they do not show up in the music player. when i put them in the media folder they will play on the memory card manager, but once the song is finished it will not jump to another song. Has anyone heard of a sprint music manager software for this phone? if not, does anyone have any other advice?

Anyway to make screen stay on when charging?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows a way to keep the screen (not the outside but the inside screen) stay on when charging, other than changing it to always on, cause than it will stay on even when it's not charging, i think its a bit ridiculous that when watching a youtube video the screen dims, even when charging!!!

Is there any way to have Yahoo messenger run in the background and receive notifications when someone IM's me? The only I can currently receive messages is to be in the yahoo messenger screen. Thanks for your help.

Does Lotus Need A Special Ear Piece?

Is there a different headset plug for the Lotus? For some reason my connections will not stay in without holding by hand.
Thanks

I wonder...

how many straight men will actually carry the LG LX600? Personally, it reminds me of a woman's makeup compact. At least it appears Sprint for once is actually catering a handset to the GLBT population here in the US. I can only imagine the parade occurring outside the Sprint corporate retail stores in San Fransisco. Someone call Ellen D and George M!
