WMWifiRouter

Unfortunately my upgrade isn't up yet so I'm still stuck here with a Q, but so far from everything I've checked out, the XV6800 is definitely the way to go.
Anyway

Has anyone tried out WMWifiRouter?
I use PDAnet right now and it's supposedly very similar in the idea of tethering, except instead of using cable/bluetooth to tether, it uses the phone's own wifi transmitter to create a mini-hotspot. I was wondering if anybody's tried this out yet, and whether there were any issues in using it.

Here's a link to the last free version before they started charging to buy it.

Windows Mobile 6.1 now ready to download

See http://support.vzw.com/phones/ and look at the bottom of the page underneath Downloads. Alternatively, if you want a direct link, go to http://handsets.utstar.com/downloads/XV6800%2 0MR1%20Upgrade.zip (I gave the VZW Support link first to demonstrate this is a legitimate Verizon Wireless release).

Some of the primary enhancements with this upgrade are:
• Upgraded OS to Windows Mobile 6.1
• Added EVDO Rev A capability
• Updated the MMS client to be compatible with WM 6.1
• Added Microsoft Remote Desktop Application
• Added capability to use VzNavigator application.
• Resolved compatibility issues with Microsoft Voice Command
1.6.
• Added capability to read micro SD card of up to 16GB mem...

WinMO 6.1

is this update done through the manufacture of the phone, or your cellphone service company. I know sprint has announced it for their mogul, but I don't see why the Verizon version wouldn't be able to be updated as well

any thoughts

Pair TomTom One with XV6800

Hello All,

I've been frustrated with being unable to pair my TomTom One with any of the Verizon phones I had (XV6700/XV6800). I found the answer to the problem, I found the following info on Verizonxv6800.net and it works seamlessly!

Enjoy

Here’s how to enable Bluetooth DUN and connect your xv6800 to your TomTom One.

It’s very similar to the 6700 process, but there are a few things that have changed so please read all of the instructions first. There is one step that must be executed swiftly or you’ll be starting over.

I included “6800” or “TomTom” on the strart of each instruction line to indicate where the task should be performed.

How can we contact VZW with product suggeestions?

Hello!

I just ran into another XV6800 annoyance. I was using my BT headset on a call, and a calendar notification popped up. When it did, it disconnected my BT headset (Plantronics Voyager 510), and the call proceeded on the handset. Fortunately, a tap on the headset button brought the call back to the headset.

How can we let VZW know that it needs to be fixed?

Buying a Mogul on Ebay

I am looking at buying a Mogul for Sprint on Ebay and have a few questions. First, does anyone have a seller that they would recommend? Second, I see that I would have to upgrade the ROM when I get it to use the GPS but does that also upgrade to WM6.1? If I purchase directly from Sprint is that already done?

Thanks in advance!
