Nokia Announces New Phones for Americas

Nokia today announced three new phones for the Americas. The Nokia 3595 is a dual-band GSM (850/1900 MHz) phone with 4096-color display, integrated Java technology for downloadable applications, and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). The 3595 also sports an instant messaging (IM) client and XHTML browser. Shipments are expected to begin in spring 2003. Nokia today also introduced the new basic-category Nokia 2220 and 2260 TDMA phones. The 2260 features tri-mode coverage for the U.S. (TDMA 800/1900MHz/AMPS). The phones are expected to begin shipping during the 2nd quarter of 2003.
