NOKIA E61 - WLAN Problem

I just purchased a Nokia E61, and live in the USA. I use Tmobile as a carrier and have all the support from them. My problem is, I can not get the WIFI to work. or even turn it on for that matter.

Does anyone else have this problem??? do I have to flash the OS in order to get it to work? According with the manual, I can go into SETTINS, CONNECTIVITY and turn WLAN on or off. However, when I am in CONNECTIVITY, i can not see any icon with WLAN.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you purchased the phone through one of the US carriers, I believe they disabled the WLAN feature that the international version has. I have the unlocked international version and the WLAN feature was enabled when I opened the box.
