Nokia 6680

The more I check out the 6680 the more I am inclined to give the candybar format a chance. Is there anyone here who has a candybar type phone who has had a bad experience from the display and the screens being unprotected? Are all of you living in peachy keen land with no problems from the lack of a clamshell? I am becoming SO tempted, especially after seeing the 6680 ad on video on the Nokia website...

Hi Lorna!

I have read a lot of your posts, and you are learning a lot of about wireless. Isn't it fascinating?! I used to own all Nokia phones until I switched to my motorola phone in April.

Nokia candy bar style phones are really good phones. They are solidly built and they are die hard. The only two problems with them is the screens tend to scratch easily, and you have to litterally lock the keypad or the buttons will be pushed while in your pocket. Plus I think Nokia's color screens are too small. I like big colorful screens so that is why I went to the Motorola V300. I love clamshells now. I used to think they were fragile, but clamshells are great phones. If you want a bluetooth clamshell phone I reccomend getting the Mot...

Hi. Your comments are very helpful and you have reinforced my belief that Nokias and Motorolas are good, sturdy, reliable phones. Some of the new Nokias (the stainless steel ones) claim to have a scratch resistant display. Hmmm.
