what size was the messages you were trying to send?
If you are attempting to send large messages that use a lot of memory to one or more persons it could cause the phone to freeze. A suggestion would be to send large messages to only one person at a time.
A phone is not a computer, it can not always handle the type of use that you may be able to do on other equipment
