Software for samsung a610

The samsung a610 is a good phone but the support from samsung is almost non-existent. I had to go on ebay to buy a usb data cable so I don't have to pay the blackmail to verizon to upload photos to my computer. However, the cable came without software and not only does samsung not provide software downloads for the a610 but they won't even answer my email addressing this issue. Does anyone know where I can get the software? The a610 is not a cheap phone but samsung acts like this is some kind of low-end purchase that they don't want to be involved with. Someone should clue them in that this is expense phone that requires better support and service for their customers.

About the Second display

On the 2nd display, can you set up a picture on it instead of the time or whatever even if someone isn't calling, like have it as a screensaver or what not? Or when taking a self picture can you see yourself on the front screen?

will samsung ever release a phone with bluetooth? i love samsung's funtionality and design. they seem to pack a lot of features and technology in a very small and light package but if they implemented bluetooth in their phones it would be perfect. the motorola bluetooth designs are a little heavy and cluncky.

A530 vs A650 vs A670

I could use some help folks. With Verizon I will be upgrading my phone very soon. I am considering one of these phones. Can anyone who really knows these three shed some light on them other than what I've read in the reviews? I'm looking for good battery life and realize these offer different things from each other. What I'm looking for is some good honest opion as to which model may be the best of the three. Any help is welcome.

SID lock out

Does anyone know how, or if there is a way, to lock out specific SID's on the a670? My stupid phone keeps trying to pick up a roaming sid. Even when i put it on home only, it looks for the strongest signal and will keep switching services.

Sound Byte from Nokia To Samsung

Alright. A buddy of mine made a "sound byte" on his nokia 6600. He sent it to me to which I could save it and listen to it on my Samsung D415. Is there any way to get it to work as my ring tone? Or anything he can do to make it so that I can use it? I'm guessing it would have to be something on his end that he could do...since the "Set as Ringtone" option can't be used when I check the options for the particular sound file. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Smile

Any rumors of coming vzw full feature phones?

I really like my Samsung A310 (even if the ring tones do stink). It is a bit outdated and I'm up for NE2. The V710 looks interesting but not sure I want Moto.

The A770 looked interesting UNTIL I realized it was not trimode Confused (I live in rural area and need analog roam) and it has no PC Sync. Crying or Very sad I don't care about the BT but the trimode and PC Sync ARE very important to me.

Samsung has few new VZW phones announced which makes me wonder if there could be anything coming worth waiting for or if I should give the V710 a closer look.

Warranty... What Warranty?

Had a Samsung a530 on Verizon service for less than 6 months. One day, open the hinged lid and it comes off in my hand, screen goes blank, a small piece of plastic hangs on one side of the hinge.

Figure one year warranty, no problem... Laughing What a joke. Under "What is not covered" I see "(c) any plastic surfaces or other externally exposed parts that are scratched or damaged due to normal use".

I figure this is for extreme cases and a reasonable customer service agent would want to keep an otherwise satisfied customer. Well Bubba and Buck (his supervisor) didn't see it that way. In fact Buck implied, in no uncertain terms, that I lied to him by saying "...let me tell you the facts, the hinge was damaged by miss-...

a-670 scheduler ring settings?

Hi, I was wondering if any of you guys know how to change the ring setting for the scheduler/planner on the Samsung a-670. I know I can change the TYPE of ring tone but I don't know how to set the volume of the scheduler alert or how many times it rings.

I would like to make it a lot softer but I don't know where to change the volume setting.

Samsung MM700/ A700

I went to Best Buy tongiht to see if they had the 8920 to play with and they didn't have it, but they said they would have it in 1 week along with the new Samsung MM700/ A700. The rep then showed me the spec sheets on the new Samsung phone.

1.03 megapixel camera, capable of 1024 X 768
It did list a camcorder function.
Not sure about the flash, due to the fact the camera lens can be manually positioned.

Hope this helps any and all curious about its release.

I really like the p107 that I saw at the Cingular store. The rotating camera is pretty neat, but mainly, the phone is very easy to hold & dial in one hand. In fact, most of the Samsung phones seem easy to thumb-dial. I think it's partly the scoop design of the keypad.

Anyway, I'd really like to replace my SE-t616. It's a source of constant frustration in sunlight. Questions:

1. How are the Samsung displays in sunlight?
2. Anyone heard rumor of new Samsung with Bluetooth?
