Verizon Wireless today announced that the HTC Droid Incredible 2 will be available Thursday, April 28, for $199.99 with a two-year contact. Droid Incredible 2 shares many features with the Incredible S, announced earlier this year. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo with HTC Sense, and has the latest generation 1GHz SnapDragon processor inside. It has a 4-inch touch screen with 480 x 800 pixels, and an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash, and 720p HD video capture. It includes a 1.3 megapixel user-facing camera, too, and runs Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. Other features include support for Wi-Fi, GPS, DLNA, and mobile hotspot. The Droid Incredible 2 is a global phone, and can roam on the 3G networks of select countries.

Epic Fail!

no 4g, no dual-core, and no gingerbread??!!?? for $200 on contract, that is a complete waste of money. maybe consider it if it cost less, but with last years technology at that price range..... EPIC FAIL!!
No. If they start making only 4G devices THAT would be the fail. Why should I pay more for tech that is not even available to me in my home area? Right. I shouldn't.

the Iphone is 3 years ago tech and look how well it sells... this phone will do very well
I agree. It'll be underwhelming for sure. Many of those who do purchase it will, at some point within their 30 days, realize that they have made a mistake and most likely switch it for the Thunderbolt, which is superior in many aspects. The realizatio...

Should be $149

$199 is too high. Where's the upgrade? Same old tired screen @ at the same tired resolution, tired processor, no 4g? No way.
It's a world phone. It has a user facing camera and it is a little bigger. So for someone who is actually a Verizon customer. Like me... THAT IS the upgrade.

i like this phone but...

i would buy something like this but not for that much i would maybe think about 99.99 (possibly). android is cool, but that os needs to be more picky more higher end to gain an edge-more features!this phone is slightly disapointing... i want android but i just signed up for the iphone4 with verizon ha ha. i am on both sides what does that make me? i am a neutral party i guess
im also new to phonescoop! hi everyone!
ps- i work for att 😉
and i do also understand that this tech is expensive so it is justified i guess?!? but with all the other options there has to be some motivation to buy.
i can get a inspire 4g for 99.99 at att....

Why?

Would you choose this over the Samsung Charge 4G for about the same price?
Because

1. HTC offers a much better hardware build quality.

2. A nice upgrade to the original HTC Incredible: bigger screen, front facing camera, larger micro SD card included, etc.

2. 4G is not available everywhere yet.

3. Some people mig...

Not everyone is planning to go to 4G. Verizon claims they are going to keep 3G up and running until 2020. So they may as well keep cranking out devices for us dinosaurs.

Because personal experience with Samsung phones says I don't want one.

Years ago, I had a Samsung flip phone that wasn't great - it dropped calls, etc. Got a Nokia and it was fantastic. Then got a Samsung slider (gave 'em a second try, because it ...
