Auracast

image

Auracast allows one audio source to transmit to an unlimited number of Bluetooth devices nearby.

Individuals can use this feature to listen to music or watch video together, sharing the audio from one phone (etc.) to multiple headsets.

Auracast is also designed for places such as theaters, airports, museums, gyms, and convention centers. Users can choose a public (or password-protected) Bluetooth LE audio stream, much the same as choosing Wi-Fi networks, and listen to the audio channel (or language) of their choice.

Auracast is the consumer-friendly brand for the Public Broadcast Profile feature of Bluetooth LE Audio.

See: LE Audio

See: PBP

LE Audio is the newer audio standard for Bluetooth, replacing what is now called Classic Audio. LE Audio enables Auracast (Public Broadcast Profile). Therefore all Auracast devices support LE Audio, but not all LE Audio devices support Auracast.
