Re: LTE

Still pretty good, I ordered and canceled the 5t, reason, I bought an Essential Phone. $428 with sales tax, the phone came, the camera was on back order, canceled the camera, the EP-1 came to $292 with sales tax. I know it's a touch and go with Essential and no idea of the future. I'd be happy if I get to Oreo, which will happen.

I basically flipped a coin for the 5T vs the Essential phone. My Nexus 6p lost its ability to hold a charge and after 2 years I decided to buy something new vice doing a battery swap. A good buddy has the PH-1 and loves it, recommended it, etc but I also saw plenty of strong reviews for the 5T and I wanted to give OP a shot. In the end it boiled down to the OS. PH-1 is almost pure Android, which is good and what I liked so much about the Nexus line, but I often found myself wishing for more control or adding an app thinking "why aren't these options stock?" so the slight tweaks that OxygenOS adds tipped the odds in favor of the 5T. Having used Nexus phones since the Nexus One in 2010, I could jump right into OxygenOS and everything looked familar with the bonus of "oh nice I can adjust this..."

You can be certain that were they and AT&T to strike a deal, Huawei would supply AT&T with a device that would have included all of AT&T’s bands. It’s too bad they couldn’t come to an agreement. Huawei has been making some really nice devices lately.

That's because fearless leader and his clown FCC director, who spouts corporate freedom pressured both AT&T and Verizon Wireless not to carry Huawei Mate 10 Pro for some pie in the sky security reasons. I could understand if it was for the infrastructure but a phone?

1... You should know a $265 phone wont have a great camera on top of VZW 14 day return and exchange policy you had plenty of time to try it out. provided it does not have any damage which phones dont damage themselves. 2. Look on any forum and Kyocera are below average for reception. Motorola's are the best on VZW and they dont make basic phones at all unfortunately. 3.

Like I said already... I DID start complaining and calling and chatting with verizon right away about issues with my phone and all they said to do was to keep "troubleshooting" and as time went on I was getting more and more upset and had little time to keep dealing on long phone and chats to get it all resolved for which no one could fix it! and NO!, I NEVER DID A THING TO IT TO CAUSE ANY OF THE DAMAGE IT HAS!

Warning: ( very important negative aspects of this phone): I relied heavily on reviews about this phone… and I really need to let others know the truth about it. Readers need to know not to make the same mistake at purchasing an overpriced defective device that is NOTHING like it is advertised to be; and that there is no true support or help with this phone & company to fix and or replace it when there are problems, even when it is still brand new! Kyocera customer service was rude and unwilling to take any responsibility for having a defective phone and were very cold and callous. There were very high costs to send the phone back for just evaluation, customers pay all shipping. Verizon similar except some said they would help but when it came down to the final issues, they had told me wrong and there was no help, even tho I did purchase the phone thru them and complained about it from the beginning numerous times. I could and cannot afford this phone as it is, so insurance seemed silly, especially since the phone had a warranty and was a pretty rugged heavy duty phone…or so they said it was! I was expecting a good camera but yet I constantly have picture problems! There are vertical rainbow colored like lines in my pictures…and I send them to my computer as a text message and then to WORD to edit and make better but the colored ugly lines are awful and I cannot remove them. Also, when I am on a call, people at the other end of my calls always have troubles hearing me, “Hello, are you there?” “Hello, Hello, Hello????” or “I lost you!” … are very common, every time, call comments I have to deal with. For service I will have only 1 to 2 bars of service showing on phone screen, but yet, same location, my son has full bars of service, different phone but with Verizon as well! FYI: while waiting forever at a Verizon store last night, the Verizon service girl noticed that I did not have many bars for service in their store when I should have, and she did on her phone! I constantly have to move around to find a place where the others can hear me; and then that too changes. Someone said there is possibly internal damage or a defect of some kind to the internal antenna, as well as the camera too; and there are crack like marks around the camera area or close to the hinged area at the top of the phone that keep growing… that I DID NOT DO! The flip up top is just falling apart! Supposed to be one of the most durable and rugged phones and that is why I got it! Camera is supposed to be good but is not! I do nothing rough or rugged but yet small scratch like marks appear and then turn into a small thin crack like looking marks as well as a possible potential future chip off the top of the surface near the top hinge. I have done NOTHING at all to create such cracks on this brand new rugged phone (I don’t even use my phone very much)! I have NOT dropped it or hit it to cause them and they seem to appear and grow daily! In addition, after reading others negative reviews, I agree -- the battery life is awful and very short! The text messaging program is the worst I have ever had to deal with and it is unprogrammable… very little can be done to change the default set up, which is very user unfriendly! Menu screen cannot be changed to get rid of icons I don’t use and add ones that I do use; I must stick with their defaults programs. The phone is very big and heavy which I do not like since it is not actually a rugged and durable phone. I also used to be able to set the phone to say out loud who is calling and I cannot do that any longer with this phone. I was hoping for and expecting a better phone, but it is not! I want to warn others that this phone is not at all worth the expensive price it is sold for; and the companies involved will not take any responsibility for any defects or problems with the phone, even if under warranty, there is always a “catch” and the buyer is screwed here with this phone and service or lack of it! So NO!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME WITH THIS PHONE OR ANY PHONE FROM KYOCERA!! 2/20/2018

CDMA2000/EVDO needs to go away. It's vastly inferior and taking up valuable spectrum that could be refarmed to better serve the now predominantly world standard GSM+HSPA-3.5G / and LTE-4G customer market.
