i'm having problems figuring out how to send pics..
also when the phone goes black( standby i guess) the calls or messages dont go through..they used to and then all of a sudden i dont get my missed calls till i cut on the screen..the phone rings on the other end but it doesnt come thru to my phone..is there a setting to change that?

I also had the problem when my phone doesnt while it is in sleep mode.
To fix mine I just did a hard reset.
Take the battery out while the phone is on and then put it back in and turn the phone back on.
Let me know if it works.

You can only send pics with the Touch through an email address. If you would like to send them to your friends phones have them send a text to your email address to get their phones email address (every phone has one) then store that email in their contacts to send the pic. Hope this helps.
