I heard just yesterday that a couple of Sprint reps told someone that having a Vid-Cam in your cell phone hurts reception. Anyone know anything about whether this is true?

Not unless the manufacturer designed it badly.

No - complete bull.

Using the camera (still or video) does draw significant battery power, enough that some phones turn off the radio circuits during the short time the camera is in use. But that isn't normally a problem for most people.

Other than that, no, an inactive component such as a camera would not normally affect reception. And as for still vs. video cameras, that's more a software issue than anything - it has absolutely nothing to do with anything that could possibly affect reception.
