They still offer more upgrade benefits than other carriers... so totally out to screw people. 🙄
So what would your talking point be? "hey, remember that program that let people try out verizon and then come to us at no cost? Well it seems that so many people actually liked verizon that they stayed with them.. And we never bothered with the program because we know we would lose even MORE customers."
For the NE2, most phones will end up being free under the new pricing plan anyway. The only phones that won't are the high end smart phones and "almost smart" phones like the Dare and Voyager. (though the voyager would end up being only $50).
