People don't know how to think
Why is it that this conversation always happens?
Customer: I'd like to pay my bill.
Me: OK. We can take payments via credit or debit card.
Customer: Is cash ok?
Me: No.
If I give you specific details about how we can take payments, why would you think I just left cash off the list? If we could take cash, I probably would've included that in the statement. If I said how you can pay, it probably excludes any methods of payment that I didn't mention. Why is this such a difficult concept?

Because people think cash is like umm how can I put it. Universally accepted. People automatically think cash is good anywhere when in fact its not these days.

It usually is ok anywhere. The problem is the customer base here is full of like 80% people that have no credit whatsoever, have no physical address, no bank account, no credit cards, and basically just cash their government "sucks for your ancestors that you didn't know so we're going to give you money" checks.

Now I have exactly the opposite problem. We ONLY take cash. And we have signs that cleary say that. So they go to hand me a credit/debit card and I say
"I'm sorry we only take cash"
"its debit"
"We only take cash"
"But its the same as cash"
"no, its not" LOL
Then they fight with me b.c we can take credit/debit for buying a phone, but not for a payment. it never ends.

This happens to me everyday that I am working... People are ridiculous!

I've realized everyone has the mental capacity to be ridiculous.
