Does anyone else have a spouse or significant other at home that just does not understand that in retail, the schedule will change? Customers will come in at the last minute and you may get home late. Someone may call in sick and you will have to cover. You can't just NOT go to work because your spouse happens to have an unplanned day off and wants to spend it with you. If I'm here and the closer is sick, I can't just close the store and leave. I could go on for days with similar issues she gripes about.

actually... i think it's just you, bud. my wife is cool with me staying late on calls and working ot all the time. jsut as long as i chill with her a little on the weekends.

I do not have a spouse, I live with my grandparents, and they always complain that I'm never home, to do stuff for them. Sorry thats what College kids do work and school...thats it!

I think alot of people who have never worked in this industry have no concept of what is required of us. Maybe you could talk the situation over with your boss, see if you can bring your spouse to work with you on one of her days off so she can see what you have to deal with on a daily basis.
Alternatively, you could start nailing one of your hot co-workers as a hedge against the day your wife leaves you for another man (or woman--equal opportunity cheating).
