In general, commissions are taxed as bonuses. I work for the competition but experience the same. If you file your taxes correctly you should get much of that back.

To offset that, I had them take out less on the hourly checks by claiming an additional withholding.

I"ve noticed this & I HATE IT!!!! When I worked for Nextel we got paid commissions when we got our reg. paychecks. Not one big one at the end w/ it taxed!
