Deactivated SIM in a GoPhone?

Mar 31, 2007, 2:20 PM
My father wants me to reactivate an old Cingular phone he used to use as a GoPhone so he can use it to call his girlfriend since she uses Cingular. But, the activation system at work keeps kicking it back, saying "SIM is permanently disabled". So would he basically be looking at buying a new SIM card or phone, or is there something else we might be able to do?

So how long have your worked for Cingular? SIM cards can't be re-used.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a blunt, rude response. Hope it made your day.

I was simply looking for a way to minimize costs for my dad since money isn't abundant in my house. I knew chances were slim, but I still figured I might as well try.

FYI, I don't work for Cingular directly, I work for Radioshack.

thats your problem you work for radio shack...shackies dont kno anything about cell phones...and all their problems end up coming into my store...they enjoy selling phones to senior citizens and not teaching them how to even turn it on. Surprised
