Hi Jason,
I'm going through the same thing. Bought the phone yesterday, but it came with no useful documentation on file transfer.

Looks like the best way is to use the miniSD card. This phone supports .qcp and .mid sound files. So either you have to convert your .mp3 to either of these two file types, or (and I haven't tried this) according to LG tech support, just rename the mp3 as a mid or qcp and the phone should be able to play. Like I said, haven't test this yet. I'm still waiting for my miniSD card to arrive.

Let me know if you figure it out.

Hi,

Just read like a hundred posts on this. Just rename the file MP3 file as a .mid or .qcp and the phone will play the file from the "my sounds" folder either on the phone or on the card (both should work). Don't bother actually converting to .mid. If you really convert the file to .mid using s/w that's out there, it ends up sounding like something totally different than the original song, so this is pretty useless.

Also read that there's supposedly a s/w upgrade coming in the future from Verizon to enable the phone's "true" mp3 capabilities - meaning phone will read .mp3 file extensions and front buttons are enabled. There's a cool video of this actually working (test rev s/w supposedly) I can send you if you want.

How would you rename the from mp3 to .mid. All this is new to me. Tell me how you did it, details would not hurt. 😁
