Are there any good resources to find out what web browsers come pre-loaded in new phones?

I'm new to the board, and I'm trying to help a friend develop a web-browser based application. We are trying to find a good resource that identifies the browser software pre-loaded with new phones, say Nokia 1.2 vs. Nokia 2.0 or Pocket IE.

Is there any database that has this info already, or perhaps any other good developer site recommendations? Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks,
Rob

I am looking for a database (which I can install on my server) of mobile phone support features. I need to know which phones support things like color graphics, Polyphonic ringtones, wap, etc...
Anyone know of a complete phone database for sale or download?
I really am not wanting to do a manaual creation if at all possible. That would take awhile to do.

HELP -- I need an accessible phone

Developers, please read the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please.

As a retired Usability Engineer, I could just cry over our new and nifty, teeny-tiny phones. Half of the US population is at least a half-century old.

Old dogs buy new toys, but only if they can PLAY with them, straight out of the box. With the size of the phones, they cannot even pick them up to play with them.

Unlike the generations younger than they, generations older than boomers will not embarrass themselves with klutziness. Tiny phones exaggerate arthritic hands.

I need a phone with buttons that do not touch each other on the dial pad, that is at least 5cm wide and 3cm thick, with voice dial and NO camera. (I have a Canon Rebel already, and I bought i...

Non-Camera Clamshell Phones

I am hoping that more carriers will begin to produce clamshell style phones without cameras. I am a civilian employee for the Department of Defense and we are not allowed to have any type of photographic device on my installation. My wife is an RN at a local hospital, and they are not allowed to have cameras in cell phones, either. As a matter of fact, many schools and private industries are now banning cell phones with cameras. Hopefully, this will be addressed by the manufacturers and the carriers. Many people want a phone - for communication - and emergencies, not an mp3/4 player, Internet device, babysitter, etc. I hope this will be addressed as well.

New mapping program available from TeleAtlas

I work with Tele Atlas and they are launching a new program called DeveloperLink that offers free access to Tele Atlas map data and prototyping tools to assist developers in the software development process.

Itโ€™s a great fit with mobile phone technology as GPSโ€™s penetration and demand for location based software (LBS) increases. Because 65% of LBS applications are based on Tele Atlas data, DeveloperLink will be an invaluable resource to assist you in the development of your mobile phone applications.

Anyone can apply and itโ€™s free to join, so I strongly encourage you to sign up: http://developerlink.teleatlas.com. Let me know what you think once you have had a chance to check it out, we appreciate your input

Developer Skills Needed - Pics from phone to PC and/or phone

I'm looking for a developer to help me with functionality that allows users to share photos with friends. The primary issue is making sure every phone and carrier can be supported. This will be done via an online network a la MySpace (obviously smaller) where users can manage who they want their mobile photos to be shared with. Can someone advise me on what skillset I should be looking for?

Cheap Cell Phones

As Ben Bernake after Alan Greenspan continues to raise interest rates. Making Gold the only thing someone won't try to shoot you for buying because it caused the price to go up like oil. Cellular service customers with rising rates for consumer loans will demand and get cheaper phones - not that there won't be a market for high end phones. I saw Asurion insurance unload a bunch of equity on Lockline. I bet they will go below $50 dollars for a brand new phone that has a sim card that can store more than a gigabyte.

Verizon wireless handset software!!!!!

I really don't like their red color software on every phone which recently came out. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿคญ ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ‘ฟ
Why they using their useless and ugly software for every phone? In the customer's point of view, it is deprivating our own right to use unique software from manufacturers. Additionally, they restrict some functions from the phone by forcing us to use that ugly software. Why? Why?
Can anyone explain about this??????

Loading Java applications to Sharp TM150

Hello!

Could somebody give me a hint as to how to load a Java application to TM150? Or may be there exists a developer's manual for this phone?

T-Mobile confirmed that the phone supports MIDP 1.0 but that's about all they know. Customer support at sharpusa.com bounced me back to T-Mobile.

I have a USB cable for this phone and also a memory card reader, so I can create any file or folder on the memory card...

Thanks,
Viktor

What I'd like to see developed

Either other companies making camera phones that work as well as Motorolas in dim light or a CDMA Motorola with optical zoom and 2.0 megapixels.

OTA problems on Motorola V3

Hello all.

I'm developing software for Motorola V3.
I'm trying to send the software by OTA to the phone but nothing gets into it.

I did the OTA to many other phones - Motorola C380 C650, Nokia etc with success.

Actually the OTA is working on the V3 in a different country - I was successfully did the OTA in Isreal, but when I came to Mexico and bought another V3, it didn't work.

My V3 is open to any operator and I tried with 2 in Mexico and nothing.

I tried to send the OTA to ports: 2948, 4035 and 4036 and nothing.

Do anyone has a clue ?

Thanks Nadav.
