I would like to Return This Phone...

We just had a woman come into the store wanting to return her phone. It was a Nokia 2260. We haven't sold those phones in store since October 2004 so we knew she was already out of return policy. Upon closer examination of the receipt, the phone was purchased 11/11/03! Seriously, why would ANYBODY think they could return a phone that old?

They will take anything back. I have even seen associates from Wal-Marts take items back that are branded Dollar General.

I had a lady that exchanged her phone for another model about 25 days after she purchased it. Then about 25 days after that she again wanted to exchange that one for another model. This dumb box couldnt figure out that the 30 day return/exchange policy only applies to the first 30 days.

When I looked at her and told her that if her idea were true, you could get a brand new phone every month for 2 years???? Her look on her face was like "yeah so what, im paying 40 dollars a month!!!!"

I wanted to back hand her sooooo badly!!! 😈

This happened to me a few days ago! A lady brought in a Samsung R225 which she had bought nearly two years ago and claimed she had bought an extended warranty, when we found out she hadn't she had a fit and thought we should give her one because her phone was broken and she needed a new one.

Of course while this was all happening her pushy son kept trying to tell me what to do to make the phone work again...I slapped him. If he knew sooo much about the phone why the heck did he bring it to me!?

We had a woman try to return a phone and exchange it within the first 30 days after explaining to us that she dropped it in water while doing dishes.

I had a guy come in and say that he wanted to return his LG325 with sprint because it had a crack in the screen. He said he still had 4 days left on the return policy. I looked up his account for fun and sure enough he was in his 14 day period. I said to him "Sir, that return policy is not for broken phones. You can return the service but I will not return the phone" He was dumbfounded, he had no idea why I would not take the phone back. He actually tried "I think I bought it used" I informed him that we do not see refurbished phones and it said in his account that he bought it brand new. He said "well what if I didnt break it. I think my girlfriend broke it." Get out of my store.

A customer came into my store and handed his phone to my assistant, saying "my phone is messed up".
Assistant: "It's all wet, that's why what happened to it?"

Customer: "I dropped it in the toilet!"

Assistant: handing it back to the jerk in disgust, "take it to the corporate store!"

As the door shuts and he walks out laughter busts out as my assistant runs to the bathroom to wash her hands!

True story, verbatim!

i will drop the phone if they tell me that it was in the toilet, excuse myself, go wash my hands. and then they get the "do you have insurance question."

That should be an automatic question for you store reps if someone brings in a phone. "Has this at any time been in a commode?"

Not that they'd tell you... or understand the question.

We used to have a repair department and one of the horror stories is as follows....

Guy brings in a phone for water cleaning. Tech takes phone to the back, opens it up (flip phone) and SURPRISE!!!!! We had a sign that said we will not repair phones dropped in toilets because of that!

I can just imagine a guy after about 15 beers making that last and final booty call while emptying a half gallon into the bowl and just before securing the lay, plop, splash, "F---!"
