i don't really know exactly since i have never been there, but i believe she lives near austin - so it would have to be fairly close to her, she is looking to see if there is anything for rent down there for me that i could afford. but i'm not sure how much longer this divorce is going to take either.... just trying to atleast have some idea what i may be able to set up.

Austin is in the big middle of Texas. South of Dallas an hour or two. USCC doesn't have a market there. Do some online searches, and have your Aunt ask around. Austin is a pretty nice metropolitan area, there should be some good opportunites there. Plus, once you get through with the divorce, Texas is one of the best places to be. Move your decree to Texas, and have Texas be your residence. For every 6 months behind in child support they earn a month in jail. And they enforce it better down there. Not that I'm suggesting your ex won't pay, but I have several friends in several states that are dealing with deadbeat dads, and texas and oklahoma have some of the toughest laws.

yeah, he hasn't paid anything and he is in jail right now for assault (on me). plus they only told him he had to pay $50 per week for 2 kids because they base it on your income and he refuses to hold a job. so i'm not counting on anything, and they don't do anything about it here.....i know women who's ex's are thousands of dollars behind and still nothing.

Thousands are nothing. My best friend in Kansas hasn't recieved a full check in 4 years, and then only recieved two. That deadbeat got the courts to hold her in contempt for refusing visitation, but the most they did to him was suspend his driver's licence about the child support. In 7 years of divorce, he's made 2 full payments, and pays less than a hundred a month but only 4 months out of the year. If she had stayed in Texas, he would be to scared to show his face, since he stays behind, they could put his butt in jail anytime they wanted to. We're trying to get her down here, and away from the wimpy Kansas laws. We figure he's going to be close to a million behind before the first child makes it to 18. He'll be well over a million ...

kentucky - i have a really great attorney, but the laws around here are bullsh!t and the police are crooked. it is more of a free-for-all around here. when we were still together, his car was stolen by a woman who was wanted for statutory rape and took a 15 year old boy with her. we told the cops exactly who she was, who she was with, and the address of where she was staying and they pulled the *she is out of our jurisdiction now* - whatever, we live in western ky and she went to eastern ky. they act like she left the country. this happend in 05, she is still running free and still no car.

And got pissy with you when you whipped out your phone and called them right in front of you. I've heard about Kentucky. Get out of there as quickly as you can. With him in jail, surely you will get custody. Run the second you can. Stop by on your way through if you feel a need.

My suggestion? Stay FAR AWAY from that call center Whizzel works in. That thread of hers gave me nightmares this weekend. I definately appreciate the quarterly vaccuuming they do at my center! 😉
