"Other" Carriers?

Just a suggestion.

Under the carrier forums, it would be nice to have an "other" section for those carriers that do not have enough subscribers to be their own section. (Sorry if this has already been asked).

Have a Happy New Year!

The issue I see with that idea is the majority of the "other" carriers are MVNOs and are dining on the bullet as fast as Diddy changes his name.

I'm not saying you would have to name them, just a section for "others" so the employees and customers can discuss things just like everyone that comes from major companies

I believe Shop Talk would cover what you are asking about.

The parent company of the MVNO. Sprint for instance if it were the former Disney Mobile you are refering to.

No, Shop Talk is for shop talk. 😉 It's a place for employees to discuss employee issues.

I believe the request was for a place anyone can talk about any issue related to smaller carriers.

The company needs a certain number of subscribers before they're added to the list. I think PS wants a company to have 1 million subscribers before they put them on the site.

No, that's true of Southern LINC - they were "grandfathered".

...but we treat MVNOs a little differently. If it's a really major national MVNO that we expect to reach 1 million customers in a few years, then we might list it.

We list Helio, and we listed Amp'd when they were around. Those were both MVNOs with a business plan that pretty much requires/required 1 million customers within five years.

Regional carriers or niche MVNOs are different. They may not need 1 million customers to be successful, so we don't treat them the same way.

Correct. A "regular" carrier needs one million customers for us to list them. There are too many smaller regional carriers for us to list them all.

For MVNOs, it's a little more subjective, but basically if they're national, not too niche, and we expect them to reach 1 million customers in a few years, we may list them.

Yes we have the 1 million limit for listing a carrier, but the suggestion was a for just one catch-all "other" forum for the smaller carriers, which I think is a good idea.
