Alltel phone are old news

Why does Alltel get all the verizon left overs.
The only phone we got before verizon is the Krazer. And verizon is beating alltel in the price. I wish Alltell would dish out some money and get some phones.

they are a regional carrier. so i think alot of the people looking in alltel arent looking for phones but great pricing and promos on plans.

and also if they did offer snazzier phone the cost to them might be higher so you'd probally pay a higher cost as the customer too.

if verizon has the phones you want why dont you sign up there?

are they not in your area for retail?

Alltel could put phone out just as fast as verizon does, but Alltel works out the problems in there phone before the put them out...Verzion doesn't do this that why when a new phone comes out they have alot of problems wiht them... So lets say Alltel was put the newest coolest phone out first then you guys would have a lot of problems. Then you guys will be un-happy cuz of all the problem... The way Alltel does it alot better look at all the problems Verizon has with all the phone they rush out to market...

There's a bunch of alltel handsets that were and some that weren't rushed out to retail and have TONS of problems (mostly power/software) with them. Here's a short list:

Rushed: Mot Krazr, LG 5000, LG ax 390/490

Not rushed: LG 4750, Mot v262/265, Nokia 6255i

The many versions of these handsets show that different problems were discovered AFTER release. Example: LG 5000 -> LG 5000a or
Mot v265 -> Mot v2652

My brother had the Verizon version of the Motorola V265 and his quit before his contract was up, but after the warranty expired, and had no insurance on the phone. He ended up going back to his Verizon version of the LG VX4400, which he still hates because of reception issue...

I don't know about you, but I switched from verizon to alltel cause I got the the newest latest greatest from verizon and it did not work. Then you get the same old somg and dance from verizon its the soft ware, the phone needs flashing, what ever, I understand a mobile device can not work everywhere espicially if there is no cell tower but when you have verizon tech support on the phone and they tell you there is a cell tower a mile from your house & the phone drops calls 10x a call, what good is it.
I have had alltel for 6 months now and have not dropped a call once, yes I bit the bullet and paid the cancelation fee, but if it does not work why even have it?
I understand your pain I would like to get the motorola Q but I will let verizon...

Our Data Support guy in our market (Charlotte) was testing the Q last week. He has alreay tested the Treo 700 (not sure if it's the w or wx). Possible mid December early January release is my guess.

It has been a long time since I have looked at this post, but I have wanted a smart phone for a while and so I tried the Q and let me tell you I think people put up with a bad product cause of they are afraid of having to pay a cancelation fee or facing the sales guy, I might have put up with the stripped down version of windows, the palm comes with everything why? Program wise. but the poor recption and dropped calls after all everybody keeps saying how good a phone it is, well if you can not get a signal or it keeps dropping calls it is not a good phone, but I tried it cause it had the form and options I wanted, ie ir,usb, blue tooth, and yes blue tooth versions are diffetent, and motorola has all profiles supported cause they invented it i...

Besides the extreme runon sentence (which made me cry!) You just made my hubby cry. He is waiting for this phone to hit another carrier, and he was hoping it was all that and a bag of chips. Thanks for the heads up.

Well sorry for that my head was jambed with stuff and had to get it out.
Besides, when you go to the cell phone stores the sales staff say every phone is great.
Till you get home and have problems with the probuct.
I am glad I found out about phone scoop.
It is a way for real live people to comment on things, Yes I have seen some peoples complaints seem unrealitic. But I guess when they tell you a product is supposed to do something and it don't it is verry dissapointing.
Anyway motorola is comming out with a new Q, the Qh9, it is supposed to have win mobile 6 on it, but it is I think slated for ATT / T-molile.
Also you can get a black berry (I may try that next) witch I have seen get good reviews and most people I have meet who have ...

I'm an agent for another carrier, and I will tell a customer straight up if a phone is crap. If the price is right, they won't care. When we sell .01 phones, they sell hand over fist even if smoke is issuing from the phone when they look at it.

We hate the Blackberry. Hubby is an ex IT proffessional, and the silly thing is not up to par (according to him).

I work hard to fit the phone to the customer. I don't just sell phones for the heck of it.

Well I hear what you are saying.
Peoplle want cheep phones,
That is why they tend to stay with what they have they do not want to pay cancelation fees, or full price. As the phone co,s say they are loosing money if you do cancel your contract, YEAH! that is why they are getting bigger & bigger, I have never seen people with thousand dollar land line bills, but they have huge cell bills and still pay, and ask for more phone lines more services and higher prices.
I was just reporting the problem I have found with my Q, As a mater of fact I had spoke to one of the cs reps at alltel, and he said moto was coming out with a new one hopefully fixing the problems with the present one.
Anyway I would have put up with the other isues with the pho...

It will take 4-8 months for them to produce a CDMA version of the new phone, and at least that long afterwards for the testing and trials before either Alltel or my company will offer it. Sometimes it takes even more, if Verizon or Sprint gets it first and has an exclusive on it for any amount of time.

I hear what you are saying I am not eligable for an upgrade till 08, I tried the Q and the Blackjack, that was part of my reason for returning them, if I stayed on alltel I would pay full price, and if I switched I would pay a cancelation fee, I know there is a second way, adding a line, but if you figure out the differance in cost and full price it is not worth it unles you only have a month or two and absoultly have to have the phone.
Anyway I feel it is not fair you have service with a co for years and cannot get any kind of a break, after all if you bought a new phone from the company you have service with don't you think means you are going to continue to keep them, after all you just bought new equipment from them. why should somebod...

YOu mayh be looking for the newest phone....but Alltel's outlook is...Be a month or two later have the bugs fixed, and and the customer satisfaction is higher because there are not as many repairs. Not to mention that if they wait 4-6 weeks longer, there cost is less, your cost is less, and they can be more competitive/dominating on there rateplans and data.
