What exactly did "they" lie to you about?

Are "they" indirect agents or corporate?

I call in to 611 for questions. First they told me that the 3595 from nokia works on cellular one, they merged, so i bought one for 49.99 well it didnt work and the ebay person wouldnt give me my money back, even though it was written in there system under the notes column that the rep had told me the 3595 would work.

Then just a few weeks ago, I was on vacation way out of my alltel service area. Reps on 611 and in the Store have told me if my phone is flashing roaming i wont get charged. So while on vacation i noticed the whole time it was flashing roaming. So finally i decided to call and find out if i could be using it and not getting charged. So i called 1800-allte11 and talked to a rep who said that my phone would work and i wouldnt...

Your billing issues likely come from the fact that you were converted from Cell One to Alltel. These things happen, at least they were willing to refund it. You can roam on Verizon free, that likely occured before your phone company was Alltel. All of those reps likely treated your account like any other Alltel account. For instance I never get charged when there is a blinking triangle. They have never lied to me. It isn't as easy a just changing the name on your bill, I imagine those systems they use have to be converted and made compatible with one another. I don't work for Alltel, but I do work in a bank, these kind of things happen when you are buying other banks.

If all these things are true those reps never lied to you, they just d...

I won't sugarcoat it, a great deal of Alltel callcenter reps are incompetent. Alltel limits what Wireless consultants can do, so we have to call in to them just like customers to perform certain tasks.

But honestly, you should have expected roaming charges if you were out of your coverage area, no matter what icon you saw on your handest. I'm not justifying callcenter reps idiocy, but they prob didnt have the info avail to research what rate plans Cell One had and you have.

I hate calling 800-Alltel1 just like you.

I don't see a problem that Alltel caused.

The Nokia you mentioned is GSM...Alltel does not service GSM natively... I'm willing to bet that you either said 3585 or the rep misunderstood you when you said 3595. This can be an easy mistake to make if you speak English with a thick accent. I'm willing to bet that there is more to the situation than you're letting on here. Also, why would an Ebay seller refund your money for a mestake that wasn't theirs?

You were knowingly outside of your service area...and you had to ask someone if you'd be charged for roaming...let's think about this. Whose fault do you really think this is? Take some responsablity for your own actions. Bottom line is this: YOU KNEW THAT YOU WERE ROAMING and sti...

Wait a second, you told another forum that you were only 15, you can't be a customer at 15, at least not legally. You have to be 18 to be legally responsible for a contract. So maybe your parents have had CellOne/Alltel for four years?

Technically, you can't be a customer if you aren't 18. Technically, legally, etc, etc..... That's what's so funny.

If it's not your social and name on the account it's not your account. they may have you as an authorized user but that is it.

I think if they are willing to credit your acct for the roaming and taking off the third line your not out anything. the phone thing...Sorry, it should have said in the ebay add that it was GSM and would not work on alltel.

By the way, what the heck is 'pplz'?

Even if it's your kids pretending to be you, they could very easily add features onto the account without you even knowing.

I'm just saying, even if it was my kids, I wouldn't want anyone to call in pretending to be me.

Maybe you'll think differently when you're older.

Some day you'll learn this:

EVERY carriers customer service sucks in some way. Sprint trys to get you to resign your contract just for calling them (sarcastic), Cingy reps either tell you they dont know how to fix the problem (after 30 minutes troubleshooting with no options left) or are still so new they are of no help, Verizon people are just jerks, etc.

I work for Alltel and you're right about calling customer service....sometimes you can get someone very helpful and sometimes you just flat out get a cold shoulder.

However, you openly admited you was 600 miles OUT of your coverage map. If you know your out of your coverage map why must you ask? When you sign up for your plan you can see your map right there in front of you, not to mention it's on alltel.com, hell even when you log into my account it will show your coverage map to you. You are 100% lucky that they are crediting it back to you. I hope you do go to another carrier....go to Verizon and watch them credit back YOUR mistakes... :-) good luck.

Personally, I think Alltel has some of the best customer service out there. Everytime I call in I haven't had to wait. Everytime I call I am talking to someone that can speak english. And everytime so far I've called in they have fixed my problem.
