I have a question regarding roaming, if your in a roamer friendly area, do your calls involving mobile to mobile count, and do Night and weekends count. or are you charged from your anytime minutes when on roam when making what normally would be a mobile to mobile call and a night and weekend call. one more thing does my circle count if your on roam as well

If you are in a free roam area, blinking triangle, then the mobile to mobile, night and weekend, and my circle are all counted as they would if you were not roaming.

However, a little known fact with Alltel (maybe other carriers as well...???) when you go over your peak minutes, ALL M2M, N/W, MyCircle minutes are fair game for additional per minute overage charges...

With USCC, on nationwide plans, if they travel outside of their local calling area, even if it's to another USCC market, m2m, N/W, and unlimited incoming calls don't follow them ouside of the local area, and the anytime minutes get used instead. So Alltel users have it better than USCC users on that level.

Geez, glad I'm not with them. Alltel is a lot bigger though. And it is less likely then USCC to be roaming so I guess USCC doesn't really have a choice.

Of Course, a carrier in my brother's area, called Centennial Wireless, also has small local areas. Also, like USCC, they only allow m2m, n/w, and unlimited incoming calls to the local calling area on their network. Unlike USCC, Centennial Wireless's local calling area doesn't span multiple states. Centennial Wireless competes with Alltel in SW Michigan.

USCC had weird "home areas." A local plan available in the market Alltel acquired in FL covered 2 counties spanning no more than 40 miles, (everything outside was roaming charges upwards of .99 / min), but then again which is worse: the people who came up with it, or the people who chose that plan...

Both! Those who created the plan, and those who chose that plan.

If you are on a National Freedom plan your Night and Weekends and M2M follow you. On Total Freedom they do not.

Total Freedom plans are limited to 1000 n/w and 1000 M2M minutes that can be used basically anywhere in the US

on alltel freedom plans you get your n/w and m2m minutes everywhere you get your anytime minutes. if you are in a roaming area (solid roaming indicator on national freedom or outside of greater freedom coverage area) then none of your free minutes apply and you are charged roaming
