Thinking about trying Alltel in New Mexico. I have a few questions for anyone who may know.

1. How is the service? I have been doing my own research for a few month and it looks pretty good to me. Any other info would be appreciated.

2. Is there going to be any new Blackberries coming out soon? Could use the 7250, but did hope for something newer.

3. Is it true Alltel and Verizon roam on each others network?

I have Cingular right now in California, and read somewhere the Alltel have GSM towers in the Southwest that roam with Cingular is this true? Thanks and any info would help...

1. I love the service, you will get service in many places that you don't get with cingular.

2. There is the Blackberry 7130e, which has EVDO. And is the newest out I believe.

3. Yes it is true that both Verizon and Alltel use eachothers towers. Also a new agreement was just signed with Sprint for voice and data. This agreement will allow Sprint users to access Alltel's huge rural data network and Alltel customers Sprint's EVDO network. You will be hard pressed to find an area where you will actually have to use Sprints network for voice, but it is possible. I know one place in Kentucky has it...

Alltel does have GSM towers which they have acquired when they bought Western Wireless in the southwest. They keep these up so GSM carrie...

Thanks for all the info guys. One question about the MY CIRCLE thing. Can you use a land line as one or more of those numbers, or does it have to be other cell companies? My company will be run primarily on my cell phone, and there is alot of ordering from a warehouse with alot of hold times. Having them on the in my circle would be nice....

Umm....not quite...

Alltel does have a very good roaming agreement with them, but keep in mind VZW wouldn't have much service without Alltel either. Middle america hate alltel because of the lack of service outside of main highways.

But VZW and the new 10 year roaming agreement that was just signed is what will help Alltel save a lot of money.
