Signal Reception with Alltel?
Is it Alltel or my crappy Audiovox 8910 that i'm unable to get signal where my coworkers get signal with their various Cingular phones?

who cares they are both LG's! Step to to a real phone or get cingular. You said that your buds got reception so why are u still with alltel?

i loved my 5550, but LG replaced it with a 4750 because they were such a problematic phone for us (us cellular)

I won't touch this one. Audiovox 8910 is a POS on Verizon Wireless too, from what I'm told. Since Alltel doesn't serve Indiana, I can't give a recommendation on a good phone, but LG tends to be crappy on VZW. I've had good luck with Kyocera phones reception wise. Too bad Alltel doesn't sell a larger Samsung selection of phones, or I would recommend Samsung. But Alltel from my experience roaming on their network in SW Michigan is spotty. I always had dropped calls along I-94 going through Benton Harbor and Fair Haven to name a couple of places. At the state line on the Michigan side, Al...

i too live outside of an Alltel area, and i compeltely agree with you that on Verizon, LG's and Audiovox's arent that good with reception, and SAmasungs arent much better than the two. I would reccoment keyocera, or Motorola they are AWESOME when it comes to signal strength1!

The Motorola E815 will get you 4 bars in an underground bank vault.

I have the Samsung a650 and it works great reception wise. My experience with Motorola phones have not been good. I got lots of dropped calls when the bars went down to 3. My brother has a Motorola and is also complaining about it. He has the V265 and has the same reception problems he had when he had the LG VX4400. When the Samsung a650 was still widely available, he wished he had taken my advice and bought it instead of listening to someone who has Cingular and has a Motorola. When i owned the Motorola, I had the 120c & V60. But even with my Verizon Samsung phone, I still have problems with reception in SW Michigan, but I might not roam as much on Alltel as the licenses Verizon acquired from Leap Wireless (parent company of Cricket)...

Prob your 8910. My buddy has the Audiovox and he doesn't get any service at my house but sometimes recieves analog. I have a v262 and I always have atleast 1 bar of digital sometimes 2.
