Alltel/Verizon Update

Day one won't be until January 2009.

After the closing date we're being instructed to treat divested markets as competitors. Once it all goes through we won't be able to activate, upgrade, do bill payments or pretty much anything for those people in divested markets.

Anyone hear anything else?

Phoenix is not on the divested list. Verizon got to acquire Alltel in that market, and reacquire the A side that they were forced to divest in 2000.

As long as you're not on Unicel, then Verizon is taking over your market. We won't know when that'll happen. As for the Unicel network; Verizon chose to divest it, as it would cost more to overlay the network with CDMA, vs. acquiring an already built CDMA network, and just integrate it into Verizon's network.

Where in Nebraska will assets be divested, if anywhere? I'm in Omaha, but my family is in greater Nebraska and we enjoy the mobile to mobile minutes...will we be forced into different carriers depending on location and which locations are those? any ideas?
