Alltel Motorola Q question
Okay my question is this... I have Alltel and I am thinking about buying a Q...I want to check my email but I have no interest in using the blackberry service or paying the extra $44.95 a month...The Q can check normal POP email accounts by simply logging in and downloading the email like any other client...Do I really need anything other then mobile web to be able to do this? I am okay with having it use the internet once an hour for like 2 minutes to check an email account. This is feasible right?

If you purchase the phone at the sale price then you will need to go on a Smart choice plan. They are a pretty good deal I think. I have a customer that has gone thru 3 Q's since he activated less then 3 months ago. Anothe customer is on number 2 in less then 2 months. Freezes up, power off, battery life is almost non-existant, those are the only ones I can think of right now. I have heard it's a great phone but as a pda/internet/email device it sucks. I know a lot of people have had problems with the treo 700wx. Mine has been great. Reception is good where I go, used to freeze until I updated the software. If your looking at the Q don't rule out the Treo 700wx.

Thank you but I don't think that answered my question! I am not going to go into the store to buy it, I would buy one from a friend or Ebay or something. My questions is, once I get it activated, can't I get email through the phone simply by letting it use my Axcess Web? I know it uses minutes when I connect but as long as I'm not checking super often that is fine with me. This will work this way right?

I'm pretty sure if you tell the rep it is a Q they will remove the axcess web from the account though. They are supposed to do that...

Maybe when you give them the esn tell them it is a krzr or something. I don't work there so I don't know if they have the ability to see what type of phone the esn is registered for.

The Moto Q will not access the internet with mobile web. It just won't work.....at all. Mobile web, and internet access are two totally different platforms.
