Moto Q question
Hey guys
Once again, this might be a dumb question, but I would like to know if when I do a new contract with Alltel, if I can get the Moto Q as my phone without doing a data plan? I know to get a blackberry you need a data plan, but what about the Q? Can it just be used as a phone and not for internet? I mean its got all sorts of features I like, but I dont want to shell the extra money for the data plans. Please let me know. THank you.

Why would you want the Q if you don't want the data plan? I think the data plan is obligatory if you buy that phone, but if you don't want the data, what's the attraction with that phone? We've seen several pieces come back in our store with freeze-ups. I have a sense there are still some problems attached to that phone.

I just want a phone with a full qwerty keypad on it and the kyocera strobe is not an option as i've only heard bad about it and I didn't care for it too much when i messed with it in the store. I would prefer something like a LG ENV that verizon has, but alltel doesnt offer anything that nice and I don't know if they will be releasing another phone like that soon. But thank you anyways for the info.

As long as you never try to use the data, Alltel will never make you pay for it. I have the Moto Q and I have never paid for a data plan.

No, you don't have to have a data plan, but you would have to pay full retail price of around 400. If you want the two year pricing it requires a smart choice plan that starts at 69.99 and comes with the data plan. For 89.99 you get the data, free nights at 7, unlimited text, my circle, and 500 national freedom minutes.
