I'm getting a new phone tomorrow (May 3rd) and am wondering in the current alltel lineup what is the best phone for reception? I'm thinking about the LG AX8600, but want to make sure about the reception factor.

There is only one Nokia left available...so I'm not sure what crap your store is selling.

The E815 is still the benchmark for reception, for Alltel at least. Nothing is known about the new Samsungs yet, as far as testing documents, because the FCC hasn't released them.

Have you even bothered to look at the RF tests on any of the phones, before you started typing?

Please leave the Samsungs off of your "best" list, because they rarely are anything better than "average", and more often "mediocre" at best.

The Motorola E815 pulls better RF then the Nokia 2865i. That's a fact. Not that the nokia is bad, it's just not as good. However, the nokia does get analog.

The E815 and 2865i are not tied...

At this point, I haven't found anywhere that I can't get a signal with an E815, and I've tried in several states.

This is not to say that the Nokia isn't good, because it is, however, the E815 is better.

I don't normally bang the Moto drum, because most of their products are glitchy, error prone, and just plain meh, when compared to a good Ericsson. Lately, though, the Moto V3c/m and the E815 have been leading testing hands down, so it's hard not to offer a great product, even if it's a Moto. Great UI, reception, features, ease of use, and moderate battery life, as well as amazingly durable.

Couldn't have said that a couple of years ago about a Motorola.

Samsungs on the other hand, are usua...
