Hi!

I would like to know why should I choose Nextel? I live in San Diego, which Is believed to have good coveraage. Why should I choose them over Verizon or Sprint...which are the 2 that I am debating between...? Any help with which carrier to choose would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Also, I think you should know that I do not travel a lot, none at best So having network all over is really not a big deal. I do like to txt alot... So anyone want to help...?

Thanks so much,
Matt

If you don't know of others that have NEXTEL who you can PTT it's not really worth going with NEXTEL iDEN.

You should pole your friends and family to find out what they are using, if they are satisfied with their carrier, and make a decision that way. Using the free Mobile to Mobile that the other carriers offer, typicially at no charge, would be most cost effective for you and be more of a real time test than asking on a webboard as I live in Florida and can't comment on the service in San Diego.

Also, look at the type of phones each carrier has to make sure that you'll be satisfied with the selection. For txt, I know Verizon have the "V" with the keyboard that would make it alot easier to txt. I also know that sprint has better rate plans than Verizon and sprint allows you to choose when your night and weekends start.

Direct connect PTT is the only reason to have Nextel. The phone choices are limited, coverage is not as good as other carriers and their plans are expensive. If I didn't use direct connect as much as I do, I would switch.
