i860 price

I've finally decided that my i730 sucks enough that I want to upgrade. People who had the i730 and now have the i860 seem happier (although that is a relative term because I don't know ANYONE who is actually a satisfied Nextel customer).

The question I have is, does anyone here have the inside scoop on the liklihood of the price coming down? $300 is a bit steep for a phone. I don't mind paying it, but I'm going to be pissed if I buy the phone and then a week later the price dropps $100.

I agree! This site needs to have more rumor information and less of the crap everyone can find on the FCC website!

I am interested in the same info about the price...
While I am not an insider - I do have something that may help with the price...

Enter the following code in the promotional field before you check out - CL897L (case-sensitive)

It is a $50 credit (it actually deducts $25 from two of your monthly bills instead of 1 $50 deduction)
Hope this help and LETS GET SOME MORE USEFUL INFO ON THIS SITE!!!

Actually the re-banding is pretty important to the NEXTEL end-user and the FCC website isn't the easiest to navigate. Besides, how much can you actually talk about handsets? It's not like they come out every week with NEXTEL.

Give me some info on price drops, new promotional service plans, any new updates on new phone releases...etc. If people are that in with the Nextel corp. - information should be out there.

I didnt mean to be rude. I appreciate any and all info that comes along...just trying to stir things up!

yea, the 730 is the worst phone out there that motorola has ever made for nextel, in my opinion. so many codeplug and RF signal problems. when i had the 730 i wasnt satisfied at all with it and when i gave it back to do my report i just said it was terrible all around.

prices should be coming down as more phone models like the i860 becomes released. look at the 730 and 95's when they came out and look at them now. pretty cheap. so i will say in 1-2 years maybe less the $300 price tag would go down.

a phone price wont fall a week later lol.. it takes months maybe years to get it down.

hope that helps.

My honest answer - no...that offers no help. That is common sense. We all know that over time, new and expensive things become older and cheaper as new models come out with bigger and better technology...

If you really do have some insight into this company...then give some info that is not common sense.

so if it was common sense, why did you ask the question if the i860 will go down? doesnt make sense to me.

i do have insight and inside in this company, but i cant say anything thats for the future. ( you know why it has to do something with the agreement i signed)

good luck.

I did not ask the original question about the price...that was MarkF!

With that said - the point I was making was not the exact price of this specific model - the point is to entice people to offer some useful info.

Something that cant be found on a generic website.

Actually, what I was asking was, is the price going to come down in the immediate future, i.e. the next month or two.

Re-read what I wrote (specifically the bold part)

i already explained to you that it will take months or even years to make the price of the i860 to go down becuase another phone like it hasnt been released onto the marketplace. as soon as that phone does i would say wait 3-5 months till the 860 price goes down.
