Here's the deal.... I got two different denial letters for my two lines. One said I didn't send in the original bar codes, and one said I didn't activate a new account....... It said it was an exisiting account and all I did was buy a new phone.... (I ported my numbers from US Cellular). lol

So when I called Young America they told me they could honor the bar code rebate becuase I did infact send in the barcodes....

HERE IS THE KICKER!!! They told me that since two rebate forms were mailed in the same envlope it violates there rules and one line would not be honored.... I laughed and said "Well is that rule stated on the rebate form?" ... I looked at the reabte form on the net and it doesn't state that anywhere.... They still said t...

OMG I hate the T-Mobile rebate people... they are so quick to deny you if one t isn't crossed. T-Mobile uses them to save money since not everyone will mail them in, but I wonder how much it costs the company in customer good-will...
I think they are starting to realize it since now most upgrades don't require rebates...

Ya, shame on you T-Mobile, you are the only ones that have difficult rebates. Its weird how 100% of people send off their rebates with other companies, but when it's a T-Mobile rebate, there is a strange force preventing them to fill it out and mail it off. I would recommend going online to a company like Wirefly....they honor rebates... ha ha

I don't believe there is a problem. I have done 5 rebates in the last 9 months and not one problem. The form is easy to complete. What the problem is is society is a majority of idiots!! Also, T-Mobile has reduced the number of rebates on phones - they are just selling it at the reduced price. Let's face it, all rebates are scams - the company is betting the consumer will NOT submit it.

ByGeorge, you're right. They're simple instructions on what needs to be done and if you don't follow them, then maybe you don't deserve the dang rebate! Haha.

But, it would be nice if it was a little easier. We added a line last month but lost the shipping label so we're kinda screwed. Not Young America's fault we flaked and I don't blame them for my brain fart at all!

It just seems to me they know exactly what percetage of people mail in the rebates so it seems they could just use this formula and do away with them and make the same profit:

new price = ((old price before rebate * number of people that don't mail them in) + (old price after rebte * number of people that mailed them in)) / total number of people that bought the phone

But I guess marketing wants to be able to show rock bottom prices, not the price the average person gets (averaged over all customers that is)

You say if you can't follow directions you don't deserve the rebate??????? Well how can you follow their rules about 2 rebates in one envelope when that isn't stated anywhere on the rebate..... not even in the fine print at the bottom????? If you goto www.tmobilerebates.com you can view any reabte from any time. NONE of them state you can't mail in more than one rebate per envelope.

So before you go bashing people and implying they are too stupid to deserve the rebate, why don't you refelct back on what this thread was about in the begenning. "Denying rebates for rule violations that don't exist"

Funny how I've done three T-Mobile rebates and they've all come through and have been fulfilled in no more than six weeks. If you want a successful rebate you have to follow what they want *to the letter!*

Sarcasm almost *never* works in posted messages even with a 🙄 after it.

It's the Young America group. USCC used them before, so that kinda explains why they thought you were an existing custie. But they deny a very high percentage of claims. Also, our last rebate form with them had a disclaimer at the bottom that said if you sent in more than one claim in an envelope, to make sure that the separate peices were stapled in separate bundles, inferring that you could send more than one claim in an envelope, but we stopped doing that, they always claimed they didn't get parts, but when you called in, they would tell you the numbers for the phones they never got the info on, so who knows.

KRICKT --> I hope you are referring to USCC rebates that stated that becuase I went to www.tmobilerebates.com and there isn't a single rebate form that states you can't mail two rebates in one envelope.....

Generally speaking to those of you in this thread that said you are an idiot if you don't get your rebate back becuase you don't follow the instructions..... This thread was started by a T-mobile Indirect Dealership Owner of 5 years. Not to mention the topic was how the excuse they used was NOT stated on the rebate.... So how exactly can you follow instructions that aren't listed?????? Since I'm such and idiot.. please answer that for me.... Thanks

T-Mobile no longer uses Young America for that reason. They now go through El Paso. Also Corporate stores will credit the account right away if you have the copies of everything.

it actually changed right before thanksgiving, at least for the minneapolis market (now awarded for least dropped calls from any network). i am sure they need to convert the process from one center to the other. Young America, MN is rebate capitol for any company and is third party. The El Paso, TX one is supposed to be T-Mo only.

I totally see your point and agree with you. I think Young America is now used for sending out bills because their address is in the "From space" on the envelopes my bills come in. It would only make sense to outsource the printing of the statements.
