T-Mobile
I recently heard that T-mobile is doing something, (I guess some type of come back) to the Cingular/ATT merger, that is going to bring them up the competitive level of VZW and Cingular, Can somebody tell me what this is? What's T-Mobile hiding under the sleeve??? Is it some type of network roll out? or is it the plans? or is it... I wanna know!

They'd have to launch a lot of stuff to be competitive with Cingular and VZW. Start by at least doubling their towers erected, add 850 MHz, develop a better relationship with vendors to lower handset costs... it won't be an overnight thing.

Actually, T-Mobile has no plans for adding 850, and this is intentional, according to our rep. The reason is that the dropped call rate is about 99% when handing off from 1900 to 850. Besides, when the coverage is well saturated, the disadvantages of 1900 aren't really a big deal. There are also advantages, such as a longer signal range (when unobstructed) and more consistent data transmission.

Spoken like a true representive. Ill believe it when i see the improvement. I think T-Mobile would be a much more stronger company if they had a network improvement. I am in the NY market and customers churn rate on T-Mobile is High. T-mobile offers great rate plans and also one of the best handset selections. They lack now in coverage and network here. If that improved they would be very competitive here in the NY market. Don't get me wrong T-mobile in NYC is very strong but on Long Island its really spotty. We have customer who love there service or hate it. Its like a crap shoot.
