PEBL Upgrade

I posted this in the PEBL forum, thought I'd try here too...

Anyone know why T-Mobile is offereing the PEBL for FREE to ANYONE who wants it?

I did not qualify for the fully discounted price on handsets but was able to upgrade to the PEBL online for FREE today. I have never seen T-Mobile offer a free handset to people who don't qualify. My girl was even able to order one today for free and she upgraded to another phone a month ago.

The phone's not going to turn into a pumpkin after a month, is it? Called to see what the known issues were and there weren't too many so I thought that it would be a good idea to grab one.

Any ideas?

I don't have the Pebl, but I know a couple people who have the Pebl, one loves the phone, and the other says that he doesn't really like the automatic push button to open because it causes the phone to fly out of his hand if he doesn't hold onto the phone tightly. Both of them have never had any internal problems with the phone itself. Did you have to sign another 2 year contract to get it for free?
One of my friends told me that when he got the phone , they guy in the tmobile store told him that they were going to stop carrying the phone because newer phones were coming out at the beginning of 2007.

I have no idea why they're spreadin this much love around but I guess it doesn't matter.

I've had my PEBL longer than any other phone. As a serious cell phone nerd, I usually buy a new one at least every 6 or 8 months, often even more frequently. I bought the PEBL the day T-Mobile pre-released it, which was in December of last year. It is without a doubt the best phone I've owned to date. If you're like me and you use your phone for calling and text messaging and NOT trying to browse the web on a postage stamp-sized screen, you can't go wrong.

Yes, Moto's software is a little funky but once you get used to it, it's as efficient as Nokia's (almost). The build quality is astonishingly good. The matte finish rubber never shows grease or f...
