if you cancel your number, you CANNOT port it. once you cancel, it is no longer YOUR number...it goes back into the carrier's number pool and can be freely assigned to anybody else on a new activation... if this happens, you cannot port the number because your information will not match the the customer information of the person who that number was reassigned to. usually there is about a...

I have full filled my 1 year contract, and this October i will complete my second year at month to month, but they still want $349 for the V600 phone, $100.00 more than the "New Customer" (now that they offer a $50 rebate on T-mobile web site, making your cost $249.00). So do you not see that it is a little unfair to person that has stayed with the carrier?
If you lease cars, retuning customers get a little deal, buy a new car get a rebate, if your a frequent flyer you get a little deal through miles programs... etc. Now i guess all companies could remove these customer loyalty programs, but chances are they will not, they have become part of the business mode...
