New phones with Myfaves has 5 dots on it, usually on the back of the phone. The grey razr that's listed on my.t-mobile.com might be the MyFaves version of the device. http://www.t-mobile.com/myFaves/ is rumored to be the address of it when it goes live, which is rumored to go live a week from Monday. On a family plan, i read that each line gets their own 5 myFaves numbers, but they are not pooled. Each myFaves line, even on a family plan is independent of each other.
Rate plans? I found this online:

Single 'myFaves' Plans:
$39.99 300 Unlimited W/myFaves
$49.99 600 Unlimited N/W/myFaves
$59.99 1000 Unlimited N/W/myFaves
$69.99 1500 Unlimited N/W/myFaves

M2M can be added to Single 'myFaves' plans for $6.99 per line

Family 'myFav...

Okay...hold the phone (no pun intended)!

This may not be such a great deal for people like me interested in the Blackberry Pearl if they're just going to do completely separate plans for "My Faves". The way I was figuring it, I could do the 1000 minute/month unlimited Blackberry plan for 59.99 and simply add the 10.00 charge to that plan making it 69.00/month. If I have to pay 59.99 for the 1000 minute "My Faves" plan and then add 19.99 for the unlimited Blackberry access, we're talking 90.00/month for the SAME THING! No way I'm doing that.

If "My Faves" is not an add-on service, but rahter a whole different plan package, it will not benefit everyone...especially Blackberry users.

Does anyone have details?

No, My Faves are separate rate plans and will require a 12 month extention for existing customers to switch to. It is not just a feature add on that can be removed or added at any time. (per t-mobile training)

Okay, then once again...I'm EXTREMELY confused! If what you're saying is correct, then this service will SUCK for BB users. It will cost 90.00/month (maybe 70.00...I could be wrong, but still more expensive) for the 1000 minute plan with my faves and unlimited BB access, whereas the normal 1000 minute/unlmtd BB plan is only 60.00/month. well becuz you would get 5 people to call unlimited at ANY time would you really need a 1000 minute plan still?
I think that is the point.
Old rate plans will still be available. Since My Favs is handset specific, not everyone has to have it.
Also the Pearl will be the only blackberry to use My Favs.

Since my phone serves as a business phone as well (and I have more than 5 people to speak with regularly), yes...I would need at least the 1000. I have 1000 with rollover now with Cingular and can easily put away over 1000 in any given month not counting mobile-to-mobile.

My Faves is not a feature that you can add on. It is a different rate plan. You can't add $10 to it to get myFaves. It has to be a plan change with a contract renewal.

who gives a **** about tbe confidentiality. Do you know how nice it would be to tell customers that call in to cancel because they want to cancel because there friends have verizon or whatever? I could have "saved" all 1/2 of my customers this week if I would have been able to tell them about my faves or tmobile WIFI at home! They are both great services that I would have loved to have scheduled follow ups on to see if they would like to try the service out. Instead they canceled service they are canceling and are going to be too deep into their contract to come back to tmobile. I didn't have to offer them anything all I would have to say is this " hey were are coming out with great service that I think you would enjoy and I think you would ...

The reason for confidentiality is because nothing is set in stone until it's launched. I've seen phones pushed back so many times, with a launch date that keeps going back more and more. Same with s/w updates for PDA phones. And when a customer really wants a feature or a phone and keeps getting told "it'll be another month" they tend to start getting testy. They begin to feel like we're blowing smoke up their rears. I've had to deal with those customers. It's not pretty.

I am sorry guys but this is not a good thing for T-Mobile. Let me explain before your get upset.

Usually people (at least the ones i know) call only 3-5 numbers the most eg home, work, spouse, parents etc. I have a 59.00 plan with a blackberry data plan. Now i can drop that and go to the cheapest plan and get the new "my fav". This will make my bil go down by $25. In a day where companies like Cingular nickle and dime you to death, T-Mobile is shooting itself in the foot. I rather pay a little more and get all the cool features.

I like T-Mobile because of the fact that they don't nickle and dime you but I also want them to make a lot of money. After all they are a business not a non profit.

what do you guys think. am i making any ...

The biggest diff in alltell and tmobiles plan is that first off our plans are cheaper. Minimum price for a "my circle" plan from alltel is 59.99. Ours is 39.99.
Also with us you get 5 numbers per LINE, My Circle, whether or not you have 1 line or 5 lines on a family time plan have a total of 10 numbers.

You are sadly mistaken my friend! ๐Ÿ™„

I checked with two sources within T-Mobile -- the Retail DIRECT STORE! and Cust Care. They both are also in conflict with one another, specifically the Vista Ridge Village store in Lewisville, TX (DFW Metro). Customer Care says no, non My-Faves phones are not able to use the benefits from the My Faves plans while the Retail Store specifically called out in my post here states that this is a network feature that is being integrated in order to create this new set of rate plans and so the minimum requirement is a more rec...

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for T-Mobile.

I do understand what you're saying about the drop in revenue for your plan down to a smaller amount. But there's more to it than that.

I don't know the exact numbers, but think about this. Most of us receive unlimited night & weekend calling already and a large number pay for mobile-to-mobile somehow; so depending on the cost of a call - which I assume must be minimal - can it really be costing anything significant to offer unlimited calls to 5 numbers?

The other part is this. How many customers would either stay with or switch to T-Mobile if we had that service. With all the "in network" hype I think we could eliminate that and draw more people because we offer a better valu...

Customers can not add 900 numbers, toll free numbers, and international numbers as their my favs.

I agree that people like gimmicks... anything you get "free" from a company, you are paying for one way or another... if you have free nights and weekends, you have less daytime minutes for the same price... free long distance and/or roaming is the same thing, the price of the plan is higher. Carriers generally will not let anyone average less than 1-2 cents a minute when it all washes out because thats close to what it costs most carriers... if you are averaging below that for a long time, most carriers will cancel your service... just my experience over the years.

I work for Vzw and use Vzw but I really think this plan is kinda strange the majority of my friends and family have Vzw so I get unlimited calling to them anyway! If T-Mo had a larger subscriber base then there M2M would cover enough people that this plan wouldn't be neccesary also why are only certain phones capable of this it's a rate plan addon and all phones should be able to do this That really makes no sense to me. T-Mobile has always portrayed themselves as the low cost leader in the wireless industry and this is just another example. As far as that handset issue you're refering to, there is specific software that supports having the ability to do this so new handsets were launched to support it. It's not an add-on feature, these are whole separate rate plans.

Oct 2, 2006, 1:57 PM
One very important thing to remember is that companies have to spend a lot of money when launching a new product or service. There has to be a return on that investment. That's why these are rate plans which require a contract and not an add-on feature. That's also why a new handset is required which also requires a contract to get it at a discount. T-Mobile might have been able to do a simple over the air update, maybe but not sure, but profit is a consideration. Without profits, a company can not survive and also, can not come out with even more and better features and services in the future.

Because My Faves is about making it EASIER to call your 5 closest people. When you open the phone, the first thing on your screen are icons of your choosing for your 5 favorite people. You then decide which one you want to contact, and then whether you want to call them, sms then, or mms them.

It's very nice that all your friends have Verizon. Not everyone has that luxery. My sis and 1 brother have Verizon, my mom has T-Mo, my other brother has Cricket, my husband has Verizon (but his company may switch back to Cingular) and my dad has Alltel. And that's not even counting landlines. I...

Why did they get rid of the M2M minutes on the Myfaves family plans? Or is this just a misprint on their website? I am not going to pay an extra $10 and not get M2M.

If they are going to take away M2M, the plan should be the same price and MyFaves should just substitute for M2M.
